    No, they bugger you about getting the shop to fit new bearings a few times, then eventually if you complain enough they measure it and then they say we don't care how quickly it knackers bearings, it is within tolerance so you can do one.

  • Interesting tactic. Presumably everyone that's been the victim of this has refused to do further business with the shop and/or manufacturer, settled in small claims court and bought a steel gravel bike instead? If I'd spent a large amount of money on a frame that turns out to be wonky I don't think I'd stop until I had a refund or replacement and I'd certainly be making a lot of noise about the company that was trying to fuck me over.

    I wonder how many of these issues are manufacturer fault vs. how many are poor initial installation by mechanics not reaming where needed, not using proper locking compounds, etc?
