Do you remember the uproar when I change my avatar one time maybe 10 years ago? Never making that mistake again.

Was saved. Who knows what will happen now.
-

Most people did this at the last general election (or thought they did), Boris was also running with a 'save the nhs' line.
-
• #10531
Yeah, fair!

and anyone who bought that particular line of trenchant horseshit clearly hasn't been paying attention. for the past... 50 odd years?

If there's one thing we're bad at as a nation, it's critical thinking. As evidenced by the willingness to believe that Corbyn is a terrorist sympathiser, the poor just aren't trying hard enough not to be poor, and that Boris Johnson cares about anyone but himself.

Don't think that's a UK-specific problem unfortunately.

HHV is saved, but isn't Pretorius shut down?
-
• #10536
Yeah, true. And the teams of unscrupulous psychologists and marketing experts working for political parties are unfortunately going to always be one step ahead of the average voter.
-
• #10537
It is not.
A two party system and Murdoch papers that can make or break an election thanks to fptp are.
-
• #10539
I'm hoping to save them too.

Did the latest 3 week lockdown come into effect from yesterday or was it backdated to start from the bank holiday Monday?
-
• #10542
Wish someone was doing that down here. Took my walk yesterday and squelched deep into a mound of dog shit.
For a moment the world felt normal again.

Dogshit is at epedemic levels around here in Brighton. I'm convinced I might be the only owner who actually picks it up. but when it's mixed in with the half eaten food, ppe masks & gloves, pleghm and soiled nappies that also get left everywhere here it's only one tiny part of the problem. that's before we get into seagulls and drug addicts who empty the contents of nearly every bin out onto the floor overnight as well.
You've never seen anyone with as broken a spirit as a streetcleaner down here.

London hospital beds occupied by COVID patients has dropped for 8th day in a row from it's peak so hospital deaths and discharges are currently consistently higher than new admissions. Numbers today are back at 01/04 level

There's way more than one thing.
-
• #10546
You have 4? A sweet fixie, road bike, cross bike but what else?
-
• #10547
That sounds somewhat encouraging.

I clapped.
The NHS saved my thumb.

Nice. Is JC still in London? Do you know what he is doing these days?
Herne Hill velodrome is saved. And has been for some time, so I decided a change was needed.
