Red Square? I used to live there.

My interpretation is...
I live in Romford. Romford is massively white/working class/right-wing. If my neighbours were making a curry, they'd reach for the Pataks/Sharwoods. It's more likely that ham, egg and chips would be on the menu though in reality (to be clear there is absolutely nothing wrong with ham, egg and chips - unless you're not into eating animals)
Elsewhere people may be more adventurous. -

I always loved that first front room as you came in - brilliant place to have dinner or work on a bike. Such great spaces, those flats. Our one never had hot water heating which sucked but it was a brilliant place to live.

Our heating is the same unfortunately. When did you live here? It's a good place live with kids

Must've been a good 15 years ago now - back when the rent was £1200 pcm if that gives you any idea. Looking back it feels like a different London.

Just had yet another conversation with the solicitor about our service charge (the managing agent has instructed the solicitor to pursue us for unpaid service charge).
A while ago the solicitor offered to halve their legal costs, presumably based on my showing them that the information that they had posted me showed that I didn't, in fact, owe any service charge (we had arranged to pay quarterly when we moved in, and have been doing that like clockwork for nine-ten years now).
Apparently they've spoken to the managing agent, who has said that he still wants the money, and he still wants us to pay half the legal fees, and that the terms of the lease (which does say the service charge is to be paid twice per year) trump the arrangement that he made with us back in 2011.
The solicitor pointed out that Martin the managing agent wasn't going to back down on this, so I've asked them to take us to court, so we can present the evidence that the solicitor sent to us as our case, and Martin can present his opinions, and we can see who wins.
The solicitor said that they'd speak to their manager and get back to me, and acknowledged that she took my point.

Got to say there is something supremely satisfying in throwing stuff out, moving other stuff around and creating enough space to see your floor again.
The ‘ahhhh!!!’ moment of feeling you’ve gained space and what was once cramped and crowded feels bigger just through getting stuff off the floor is incredible. Not to self, make sure there’s plenty of storage, to shove shit into so it’s not on the floor, if we move home..

Blimey, dammit will have a real cracker of a story for us lot in a couple of months time..............

This.
I think that’s fair game. What’s bemuses me is that said agreement was done in 2012? Anything to confirm so? I assume youve continue the same payment schedule since 2011 as well?

Hah excellent.
Also I hope Martin slips on his bathroom floor and gets a nasty bruise.

We completed the purchase in November 2010, moved in directly thereafter, and received the first invoice for the service charge in January, spoke with the managing agent and made the arrangement to pay quarterly. We'd paid quarterly from the very first payment up until that which was scheduled for the 25th of March 2020, which I cancelled as the letter we received from the Solicitor stated that we'd be charged £95 for making a payment to anyone other than their nominated bank account.
I'd actually overpaid the Section 20 in February, so cancelling the Q1/March payment didn't put us into arrears (according to the quarterly payment plan agreed with Martin in Jan 2011), and I've made it clear to the solicitor that I'll pay in June as scheduled in order that I don't become in arrears.
I've also offered to pay the outstanding balance now, if they cancel all legal fees, and on the understanding that this payment is in no way anything other than a gesture, and does not accept that they have any legitimate claim to the money, but just to resolve the situation.
They said that Martin still wants half the legal fees, so that's a no-go.
I'm starting suspect we all live in the same house
