The fan on ours would occasionally make a rubbing noise or not spin, I think it was down to a distorted element. Spares readily available on ebay for less than £15 and about a 20 minute job to replace it.
That was 18 months ago and it's just started to not spin on occasion again (needs a flick with a skewer to get it going). If it doesn't remedy itself I'll investigate further but I'm happy enough to keep it limping along on cheap replacement parts for as long as I can.
