335s are louder than solid bodies but not much. They have a solid core with two hollow chambers either side. Epi Casinos and Gibson 330s are a similar shape and fully hollow so a bit louder acoustically but all were made to be played plugged in. The acoustic sound is kind of a by-product of the design and not a selling point.

Yeah like a Fender Thinline or Gretsch Streamliner type of thing. People seem to love Gibson 335s but I can't find anything about how they sound acoustically.
