In the short term private sellers will stop selling in the hope that BAU resumes.
Give it another couple of months.

They’ve always offered 6 or 12 month interest free. Doesn’t look like that’s changed... still 9.9% on anything longer than that.

Ah, didn't know that.

Is there a shortlist or keeping it a surprise?

I missed a BB58 on a strap (2019 with box etc.) go for £2200 on ebay a week or so ago. prices have fallen slightly but probably too early for mega discounts - if that were to happen

yes. leaning to more dressy, 60% cartier drive, 20% glashutte panorama, 20% omega fois
-
• #43684
That'll be an interesting look - how will you glue them together?
-
• #43685
100% glashutte panorama
great idea.

hhaaha extreme franken watch. probably exists somewhere in china
-
• #43687
i tried all three, cartier feels more special, probably due to the shape

On the otherside of that, Chronext emailed me to say if I bought a watch off them now I could get a free high quality polishing cloth with it ¯_(ツ)_/¯ #coviddeals

For me of the three it’s the Cartier, I prefer the Seventies to the Sixties Glashutte Panorama and the FOIS is cool but it shouts to a dressed down daily with a worn in leather strap.

I agree with Inchpincher. I really like the Drive de Cartier shape, personally I'd lean towards the smaller and simpler Extra-flat version but that's my personal taste.
Damn that FOIS looks nice.
-
• #43691
But no running seconds on the extra thin. Can't decide whether I'm ok with that or not.
-
• #43692
Do you happen to know where the top strap is from?
-
• #43693
FOIS is nice but unlike the normal moonwatch it sits a bit high like a small ball on the wrist, the crown guards kind of flatten the moonwatch out. the cartier extra flat is nice but i prefer the dial on the normal one. thinking about it it would be hard not to choose the Cartier.
anw still at least 7 months away..

Orient have finally listened and created a 36.4mm Bambino looking thing:
$240 at Long Island Watch.

Also a load of new Seiko SARB-esque JDM references: SZSB011, SZSB012, SZSB013, SZSB014. Shame they're 40mm and not 38mm...
$488 at Gnomon: https://www.gnomonwatches.com/products/spirit-automatic-classic-black-ref-szsb012
Has anyone noticed prices (for watches and other luxury goods) coming down?
Watchfinder emailed me today to say they had 0% finance which I believe is new, and suggests they are acting to prop up demand.
