Love this. There were loads of those living and hunting on the bricks of the house I lived in as a kid. I used to spend hours watching them hunt with magnifying glasses.

I didn't know that ants hunt with magnifying glasses.

Loving the confusion! The jumping spider’s eyes are amazing. Magnifying glasses and ants just brings back awkward memories of burning ants on my parents’ garden path...

With or without the Ride of the Valkyries a la Apocalypse Now? Should have known that only proper arachnids are smart enough to use magnifying glasses (nice to know they have lovely eyes).

Been watching a number of greater bee flies in my garden this week

Dragonflies appear to be doing well this year, I've had to ferry five out of the house in the last few days.

I live near Burgess Park, think they come from there. Also have a mini container pond in the garden which seems to attract them.

Caught this handsome little chap prowling our outdoor furniture this evening.

Always liked Zebra Spiders over others, maybe because they don't seem too bothered by us.

I had some interesting looking spiders on my garden waste bin recently

Had those in the food waste bin this morning!

Garden orb weaver spiderlings from the looks of it.

Do you know what the red guy in the middle pic is? I've been seeing quite a few of those lately. My daughters are big fans.

I think it’s some sort of soldier beetle - I’ve not yet looked it up.
