• Lovely. Really appreciate it.
All good here! Isolating as much as poss. Thanks! Got there with the help of @hma 's seatpost. What are you gonna do with the S75 road group? Japanese roadie?

  • wow ! magnifique vélo !

  • No probs, will let you know what I find. You’re hitting the nail on the head with the lopro though, the whole thing looks spot on. Aye it’ll go in the 3rensho roadie at some point, still got tonnes to find for it and can’t seem to commit for a rear carbon s75 disc, prices have gone nuts..
@russmeyer @gaston Thanks chaps, hopefully the final build will be suitably nice :)
Debating if all black PDW fenders or carbon ones such as these.. probably won’t be bought until after summer mind once weather gets worse..

  • When you bleed the brakes, ensure to back the lever reach adjuster screw off. I found this out the hard way recently - it's literally impossible to push fluid through otherwise and the syringe will pop off and hydraulic fluid will go everywhere...

See the first diagram on p54 here

Also, I can't tell if your hoses are attached to your levers yet, but be very gentle when screwing them in. They screw into plastic which is very prone to cracking (don't ask how I know this...)

  • Thanks guv.
Where is this rensho roadie? there are no photos on here right? Sug discs are ridic rare in good condition and people want stupid money for them. I got lucky a good few years ago but keep searching and one will come up I'm sure.

  • that Edison is such a beautiful frame! And those fades <3

  • Tom...Some amazing gear been in your possession over the years. Perhaps the Bishop would be my choice as the most beautiful.

  • Think I'm going to put the Allez up for sale, really can't justify it with having just bought the Moots. ALmost completely refurbished with a good bit of money spent on it. Oh and the Bishop is still for sale too if anyone would be interested ;)
Oh and I have a purple anodised Vitus 797 roadie frame and a Dave Yates track frame that I'm also thinking of letting go.. Aaaand a beaaautiful and light Ribble SLX roadie with a very rare Cinelli BB shell spoiler, just getting the stem out is posing and issue..
    Cheers. T

  • So you are going to flood the market...or corner the market 😹

  • Haha depends what way you look at it ;) Got enough stuff here to give a bike shop a run for its money..!

  • The Bishop must have set you back a small fortune...selling that would probably clear your overdraft! Where did you get your bike fitting for the frame, UK or in Maryland?

  • Many thanks for the advice @ak , much appreciated. Will definitely bear that in mind once I get to that stage.
So gears are set up. Not been ridden yet but feel smooth and are changing beautifully, it's amazing where they've got to with mechanical shifting these days. Won't lie though, a bitch to set up if you've never done it before. A lot of trial and error but satisfying may I say?
Managed to gub one of the bronze olives on the hydro brakes so that's requiring a new one. yet another delay but will pop into the LBS and see if they have any.
This better be worth all the hassle!!
@marxist_vulcan I bought it second hand but almost new. Yes it cost a few dollars but my god does it fly! Bit gutted to be selling it but needs must. Been debating a high end steel custom frame from G Roberts based on the Gangsta.. Time will tell ;)

  • Cannot. Bleed. These bastardin' brakes for anything. No matter what. Going to LBS and praying there's something not screwed with them. So raging right now as was wanting it for the weekend! Should've gone with cables from the start.. Anyhows, sitting and planning something now.. Could be proper speshal..

  • Jesus Christ Tom, just go out and ride one of your many incredible bikes that work already!

Sorry, I already have significant bike envy, good luck with the bastard brakes and look forward to hearing what could be more spesh(is that a clue?)al than any of your other bikes!

  • Haha my only working bike is the Gangsta atm but saying that it's probably the most favourite I've ever owned so yes, will def be out on that over the weekend. Just becoming exasperated with setting up the Moots as want it out in this good weather ;) If I find out it doesn't fit like the last one then I'm quitting cycling ;)
Nahhh I'm working up to a custom bit of loveliness if it works out and I decide to commit.. T

  • Stuff it. Mechanical levers and calipers have been bought. (hydraulic) DBAD

  • So. The V1 Gangsta geometry as far as I can get it and as accurate as my measures can be and the info I have. Based on their intial geo with 72deg ST and HT. Now to start planning...

  • you wanna build a geared bike with gangsta geo :)

  • Mmmm you may be onto something there. Or fixed w brakes. Or SS. Putting pen to paper and giving it a think. Issue is going to be with the forks as they have such a long atc length.
On another note here’s today’s one hour long bike packing journey pics. T
