Which model of Momo?
Ah, I dont remember.
It’s similar to the most common model(something with a 7), but a higher waist. (Still very low) -

What's the opinion here on Japan Blue denim? Seems to be fairly good value compared to other Japanese brands. Being in Canada makes many US/UK/Euro brands much more expensive than they would be in their native locality.
N&F is an option, though it's a little weird. -

Can’t help with Japan Blue but what’s wrong with naked and famous? I nearly went for their easy guy jeans because of the high rise and tapered leg but ended up going for iron hearts

I have one of their sashiko jackets, really like it. The fabric is super soft and it seems to be proper quality

I guess I'm just a little lazy when it comes to sorting through all the kevlar/heatsensitive/neon/patchweave/sideweave/overdyed/reflective/
refractive styles they offer. Japan Blue seems to keep it simple. -

Are the Momotaro fits the same/similar to Japan Blue? They're related yah?

That jacket's a beauty

I bought my very first pair of selvedge jeans from Japan blue in Tokyo last year, I must say very good quality and value for money, also they all come pre washed which saves you wondering if they will fit after your first wash.
-
• #3563
Thanks, they're all pre-washed?
Not a problem, but didn't realize that. -

Also these guys, jeans made in Estonia from Turkish selvedge.

Never bought their jeans but have been pretty happy with wool underwear and other stuff fom them, as well as being entertained by their website.A completely different direction, I realize this.

They look like they were Made in Estonia... 🤭
Aren't Edwins cheaper than that? I'd much rather wear simple Uniqlo selvage than those things, bit fugly... IMVHO, obvs... 🙏
-
• #3566
Edwins are not so cheap around here, and I don't know, they seem kind of meh as well. Uniqlo just recently arrived in Canada and, like most international brands that finally make it here, offer very limited selection of items, like no selvedge without spandex :(

No chainstitch is a no from me

Shipping to Canada is reasonable from Standard & Strange at $15. Not sure on your budget though. Unfortunately Clutch Cafe, who were great for buying from even in the U.S., have changed their payment system to have firm USD and GBP prices instead of GBP that would convert at the current exchange rate. The USD/CAD prices are ridiculously high now so I can no longer recommend them. S&S are really good guys and carry some great brands.

Check out The Shop in Vancouver. Run by a super friendly guy and had a great selection when we were over there.

This is what I was told in store, from memory they did have one or two lines which were unwashed.
-
• #3572
Sorry didn't mention a budget - under $300 CAD, £172.

Ah, alright.

Well, went back to ONI in the end, I just really like that loose, rough weave they specialize in. This time around I'm getting away from the slim taper and going full on trouser with 022-NIXX 15.5 oz.
However, I'm also interested in the quite reasonably priced Community Clothing offering as well, opinions?
