And on another note, has anyone got a OM fit macro lens they would like to part with?

55mm 2.8 manual focus are good and go cheap

Xpro1 and XT1 bodies are cheap as chips and still as good as they ever were, if that makes sense.
The modern F2 primes are also pretty cheap, and (allegedly, I've not really felt it but everyone says..) that they focus faster than the first generation, brighter (but much bigger) primes.

Yes, like original OM 35mm series?

Yes mate! Been after one for awhile.

These are incredible. They are used by customs and the FBI for photographing evidence so you can do CSI Dulwich or whatever.
60mm is a bit short for most macro stuff on FF, but pretty good on DX.
I’ve used them on numerous cameras but not a D7100. Apparently the af motor on the d7100 will focus these just fine according to teh internets.

Asked a while ago about budget point n shoot cameras, never got round to getting one. Just recently I've seen a few things whilst out riding or walking that made me wish I'd got a camera with me. I'm not gonna spend much, but I've seen a couple of cheap point and shoots that seem to fit my everso tight budget, I have a Nokia 3310 phone (so that's no use, and I'm not changing my phone), before anyone suggests using my phone. 20mega pixels with 10x zoom or 16.4 mega pixels with 12x zoom? WiFi (guess that's for getting pics off camera to laptop/tablet) and NFS?
Be patient and gentle please, remember this is the world's friendliest bike forum.
Cheers. Jon -

After a while considering what I need from a camera I’ve come to the conclusion that having something small is the most important thing for me and my wife thinks it will also encourage her to get into it more too.
So I went for a Canon M6 which I got new with the kit 15-45mm lens for £340 from eBay today. In the short term I can use an adapter for my EF-S lenses and if I get on with it I can sell my 60D and put that to more EF-M lenses, particularly one of the pancake 22mm ones. If I don’t, I can sell it on and not lose very much. A used one I was watching today went for £315 which is mad considering there was the new one I bought on there too for barely any more

The specs for the M6 are quite similar to my A6000, has more modern controls though.

The EF-M 22mm is a crazy good lens.

Does anyone have suggestions for a half decent point and shoot camera? I'm toying with the idea of getting one for my mum for her birthday. She's a painter and it'd mostly be for her to take photos to refer to when painting.
Requirements are mostly not too bulky and extremely simple to use (my mum is a very intelligent women but mind bogglingly bad with technology). -

Similar to my post up the page, after a similar camera, though I have found a "bridge" camera for a decent price, Sony H300 (refurbed), don't really know whether it's any good though, so I'm hesitant about buying. May just buy summat for about £70 see how I get on, and go from there.

Seriously, this would meet all the requirements and will probably solve a few other tech "problems" in the process.

Hi,
looking to buy X pro1 with or without lens. is anybody selling something? -
• #2318
Yeah what @SolitarySalat said, if it's just for reference current phone cameras are great. Even on their own they're great.
-
• #2319
iPad rather than iPhone ? You get a bigger screen to be able to reference from. Whenever I see one of those painting competition shows they all have iPads propped up on their easels.

Yeah she's probably better off just using her phone thinking about it. Guess I'll have to come up with a new idea for a present!
-

Maybe a special clip to hold the phone/pad in place?

Hi all,
I am after a Fujifilm X100s or newer if anyone here is selling one.
Cheers

On a 600D, which would be a better option for shooting stationary objects on a tripod or just in hand.
- Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM
or - Canon EF 50 f/1.8 II
or - Sigma 30mm f/1.4
or - Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM
also, best budget strap combo for having it on the lower back when riding?
- Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM

which would be a better option
If you're not going for a zoom but for a prime lens you should be figuring out what focal lenght would suit the stuff you usually shoot the most.
For most people this would probably be the 24mm. -

For Macro?
So a friend is trying to get into photography at a fairly cheap level - I only know the Fuji X line up and he says they're too rich for his tastes. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent DSLR that he could use, mainly for interior shooting (part of a side business) but he could learn the tricks of the trade with? Guessing he'd want a 28mm, 50mm and maybe an 85mm eventually.
