Yes, I remember that one well - he was not long back from a tour on it somewhere far-flung when he finished my bike. If it helps make you feel any better, there’s an interview with him somewhere where he says that actually a converted MTB was more suitable for long-distance touring.
A long time ago Robin Mather was selling a frame that he'd made for himself. I was poor at the time and couldn't really afford it.
It was a red 26" touring bike with a built in custom rack and some other nice bits.
It still makes me sad that it got away :(
