I was heading out for one of my loops out through the Chilterns this afternoon, so inspired by @Ludd and @jdp I switched off Gamin, slowed down a bit and bird spotted. Fantastic spring afternoon, empty villages and country roads - such strange times. Anyway, the list: Red Kites (loads, perhaps 20 or 30 in a freshly ploughed field just outside Woodcote, it is the Chilterns after all), Buzzard, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Pheasant, Crow, Rook, Jackdaw, Magpie, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Whitethroat, Balckcap, Chiffchaff, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Linnet, and Corn Bunting (a local highlight and somewhat of a rarity).
BirdAlert have recorded a black kite in my county in the last few days so obviously I keep looking up as it's bound to come over my garden as an Easter treat... :)
