Yes, and wooden disks with washers and nuts at both ends of the rods so it was braced between floor and ceiling. The scaffolding boards are warped and cracked so being able to adjust each corner individually was a big help getting useably level shelves out of them.
It was reasonably robust in that it never actually came down, but the rods were really too thin so it had an alarming sway. I didn’t risk putting heavy things on it, just a few books and some doohickeys I like to look at.

This looks cool as a shelf and as a bedside table. And the bed itself! For the shelves, did you just use four long lengths of threaded rod, with appropriate washers/nuts? Cool way to get a perfectly-fitting shelf.
