Does anyone know of a decent copy of the Tropic Rubber strap that doesn't cost £75 and is comfortable? Are the cheap ones on eBay any good ? Ideally with a brushed buckle

Like this?

Don’t know if it’s as comfortable as an actual tropic strap.

I’ve used these and they are nice but the hardware wasn’t amazing, it looks different on the newer version though https://www.cheapestnatostraps.com/collections/tropic-watch-straps-and-rubber-watch-bands
These are the best that I’ve tried but more expensive https://www.uncleseiko.co.uk/store/c5/Rubber_Diver_Straps.html

Thanks both I'll check those links out . No one seems to do a nice dark 'nato green' colour like the originals

The American store does green and khaki versions

Thanks , I think they are slightly a different waffle design? There are a few green ones around but none as dark as the original:

Sorry, you’re correct. They are waffle not tropic.
I’ve never seen a tropic that colour before, looks really nice.

Nah bling gold for fun and maybe ti for wearability and lightness. Then I'll stop wasting money On watches I don't need. And wait for the world to go back to normal so I can justify spending my savings on the Zenith I've got lined up once one comes available.

This one is on Chrono24 for £3,164 which is a really good price. but it's in Russia so I'm.not sure about it.

It's a great watch isn't it, it was a bit smaller than I expected but it wears so comfortably.
-
• #43668
Yeah, they are great. Just the right size as it tends to disappear on my wrist. Honestly, it renders all my other watches obsolete. Apart from the speedmaster.

Saw one at a SSAFA airshow doing one of the steep approach landings, drive a land rover or scorpion out the back and take off again within a few hundred metres. Was very impressive

That is insane

• #43674
Yeah I've been lusting after one for years. Finally decided on the exact model and have the savings.
However cannot currently justify the outlay as I'm furloghed and v uncertain situation due to covid. Boo

I suppose now is a terrible time to be selling watches.
I sold a couple of expensive watches earlier this year. At the time I felt I received a little less than they were worth but feel pretty lucky to have sold them before the plague hit!
If it works properly I. Might get a titanium one too.
