  • The Muni-Mula came with Deore XT brakes and rear derailléur, Mavic Crossmax with good Schwalbe City Jets, Rudd cranks, LX triggers, Avid levers and a smooth BB. Cost £40.

1996 GT Outpost. 4.35 kg with BB and headset. Chunky.
Will get some random parts (incl. mudguards) and the City Jets and become a decent beater.

1995 Kona Lava Dome. 3.30 kg with BB, but without headset.
I'll sort a 26" suspension fork for this one and the ever lovely @Hulsroy has offered to sort out a rear disc bracket. Will need to find some decent and lightweight wheels too.

1997 Kona Muni-Mula. 3.15 kg with BB and headset.
Will stay V-brake, because alu, so it'll keep the Deore XT parts and the Mavic wheels. A V-brake fork would be nice, but is not strictly necessary. It'll get the lightest fork I have laying around.

One thing I won't find in the garage and will need to sort for all three are cranks and saddles. @Simba had a lead on some decent Sugino cranks that might work. Otherwise I'll have to go pillar drill and pedal thread taps...

  • I'm pretty sure I have a Sugino triple (110/ 74 bcd) in 165mm if that could work for your kids bike?
