  • Nice shortish ride today. Left at 0730, loads of bikes out by the time I was coming back. Hardly any cars, nothing negative bar one gammon who didn’t like two abreast riding and was gesticulating even after I’d pulled in (he was oncoming and was still about 70m away by the time I’d singled up)

One LFGSS skinsuit spotted on Jackass Lane

  • Recently been using the surrounding area like a ski resort, short hilly routes sometimes returning to the same spot. Looking for new lanes and bridle ways all good fun. Today I saw 3 separate pairs of social ridering blokes unlikely they live together. No attempt at safe distance Tossers

  • That was worth it. :D

  • It's the same out here. I can hear the Ace Cafe types winding out sport bikes on the A40 now and then. Less traffic = more wrist flicking. Yes, I'm using motorbike accelerators as a euphemism for wanking in this case.

  • Yep, it's so quiet out here in Ruislip,
I can hear gunned motorbikes shrieking up Ducks Hill Road,
    at least a mile away.

  • There are definitely more cyclists out here in the Glory that is Ruislip.

Family groups, all riding suspiciously shiny Carrera's in a zigzag fashion.
Variation on family group, parents jogging, small kids on new tiny bikes on pavement.
Geezers, knees akimbo, on (ten years ignored in the garage?) FS mtbs.
Middle aged to mature people riding solo on mtbs in full hiviz, (in this weather!)
Pairs of youths on well used mtbs off to the Ruislip Woods NNR, (please keep to the bridlepaths).
    Occasional full kit roadie.
Lastly hetero couples, wistful looking blokes on reasonable to good roadbikes, but not in best kit,
partner/spouse on sit up & beg shopping bike in athleisure kit.
Clearly cycling with your spouse, rather than your roadie bros is about as much fun as kissing your sister.

  • My sister? She's a pretty good kisser TBF.

  • Geezers, knees akimbo

    The usually lesser-spotted!

Was treated to an ultra-rare four wheeled variety yesterday - I thought these were extinct!

  • She's good, but your mum is better.

  • I've never had such a lutrine pleasure.

  • Obviously, a master never teaches their student all their tricks.

  • Cyclists on westminster bridge getting singled out as an example of people not respecting social distancing on today's daily briefing by the CNO

  • Same in the South Downs. One dad and two boys benefit of the doubt they are a family. At least two other pairs riding side by side who probably not living together but of course they could be. Then saw a mum and dad with 5 kids on bikes. None over 10 looked brilliantly funny.

  • Only seen two pairs of adult cyclists out in the last two weeks. I suppose both could have been same sex couples.

  • Its kind of impossible to know. Even 3/4 people of the same sex and similar age could be a house share etc

  • Finally got out for a ride last night. Spent a lovely hour or so out on silent lanes in the dark. A mental health and social distancing success. 10/10.

  • Victoria Park has reopened, but not for cyclists.

  • Kids can still ride in VP which is nice for families.
Olympic Park is way better for a casual ride, plus loop road is open.

  • lutrine pleasure

    Nicely put

  • Had a great evening riding around dual carriageway of west london that I normally wouldnt cycle down them otherwise.
Done the a316,A30 and A4. The a40 and a406 next. Are you allowed on the elevated section? I know hammersmith flyover a4cycling is banned.

  • Are you allowed on the elevated section?

    Nope

  • Yes, I got caught out by that this morning trying to cut through it on a little pootle around East London. Luckily a nice man warned me because the signs are tiny.

Not sure why cyclists have been singled out, but it's nice to have a space just for pedestrians anyway.

  • Lol.

Just please don’t use the NHS if you wreck yourself.
