  • A couple of pages ago I have photos of clearance, I got 2.5 slick which I think 2.6 (depend on tyres pattern) will work but 650b with 2.8 seemed to work also.

  • Okay I didn’t post it here but here’s front 2.6 and rear 2.8 650b on 29ers Bootzipper

  • How noticeable is the weight on this? Does it still cruise along once it’s up to speed? Is climbing a pain? Guess they’ll always be loaded up so it can’t matter too much. Sorely tempted to build one up...

  • It’s porky, like properly stiff and porky, but I enjoy it all the same, think 12-13kg which is reasonable for an MTB.

Getting up to speed isn’t really a problems as it’s largely down to tyres and rotational mass (I’m running tubeless which helped).

  • Cheers @edscoble, really helpful. Have ordered at 29er frameset! And SLX 12spd groupset and XT hubs from German site bike-components.de on a good deal (see deals thread).

Looking forward to getting it built up and sewing some bags (and hopefully one day riding it)!
