you almost certainly have one of these, almost but not 100%
They are pretty standard

Doesn't look like there are too many bits there so maybe easy to fit.

Hi - the end of my kitchen mixer tap (which is pretty decent/mid-range) unscrews and the end has a little gauze. When the end in unscrewed, naturally it's then got a threaded end. Is this to fit a hose-tap connector? Cheers

• #101505
I wouldn't have thought so. I think it's purely so you can get that gauze bit off to descale it.

It's suppose to save water use by diffusing the water. You can get different types and replacements so they screw on to facilitate that.
I've never seen a pipe screwed into one, it might work in principle but there would be a lot of considerations with such a fine thread connected to a hose, especially while the tap itself moves.

I have now also disassembled my kitchen tap. Impressive quantity of debris. Now a noticeably less turbulent stream.

Nicely done; no one like a turbulent stream! Yes, everyone, it would indeed appear this thread is not for screwing anything else onto. I'll go for a 'rubber sleeve' and jubilee clip...and then get a hosepipe adapter - oooo matron!!
Cheers

Watch out for a leak between the tap base and the movable swan neck/spout. The seal normally only has the pressure from a few inches of water in the spout to contain and you will end up with mains pressure when you turn off the hose.
A jet of water that's been spraying across the kitchen for an hour, is a nice surprise when your finished washing the car 😣

Turn off at the tap and not at the hose otherwise you may get a surprise in the kitchen

Any recommendations for where best to get some steel forks straightened/realigned in London?

This Battaglin with extras is advertised at around 200 gbp, does anyone recognize the frame and it's an ok deal right?

Is it possible to put cable stops on an internal touring bike to avoid running brake cable and and the housing?
I'd like to run only the cable rather than cable + housing in my frame. -
• #101516
I'd say get some compressionless cable outer instead, but I guess you could find some spare internal removable stops for frames that use them, and assuming the holes in your frame are in a suitable place, make those holes the right size for said stops. But it seems like a lot of effort to pretty much make it worse and depends on how your frame is designed.
-
• #101517
Also the cable outer would protect your frame from the movements of the cable and protect the cable from any humidity in the tubes (i think?)

protect the cable from any humidity in the tubes
If there's humidity in your tubes which is going to trouble stainless steel brake cable, you should be worrying about the tubes, not the cable.

My right Potenza shifter seems to have a lazy return. It'll shift down no problem, but the last 3 shifts going up won't happen unless i put some pressure on the back of the mechanism in the shifter. I tried adding a washer in there, but no use. Is it the return spring at fault and if so can i replace/adjust it?

Im trying to find a 90 hip-hop track, but I can't remember the artist and I thought the track I was looking for was called "age ain't nothing but a number" but that's an Aaliyah track.
It was 90's track, by a teenager who was talking about seducing older women. I remember the video, he had a green top on and was singing to some girl in a playground.
For some reason I have in my head that he went to jail for shooting someone over baseball cards... -

2) is there any other solution like re-threading (I hear that it is possible with italian threads, but wouldn't it be impossible to find a BB of 68mm wide with Italian thread, JIS taper?)?
Assuming this is a steel frame, your local framebuilder may be able to braze in a layer on top of the damaged threads then re-cut 1.37" x 24TPI BSA/BSC threads.
Switching to Italian 36mmx 24TPI is going to involve a 1mm increase in diameter, 0.5mm radius, so check how thick your BB shell is.
Finding two 1mm wide spacers to get a 68mm wide shell up to 70mm shouldn't be too hard. Alternatively, make some using the spacers used for BSA-threaded external BBs by sanding 0.5mm off the inner surface.

Wii. Hdmi convertor.
Are they all the same?
What will it look like on my big screen telly? Shit?
Any screw I could find I tightened down :D
How would I know my tap an which one I'd need? I'm clueless on these things.
