  • Mirror trying to pass off video of people clapping for NHS as clapping for Johnson

On the Express website? Doubly awkward. Have they hijacked it?

  • Express/mirror same thing in my mind so mixed up.

    ITV footage tho.

  • Good luck getting anything done behind that frosted glass. Iā€™m all for clever solutions but come on

  • Yeah questionable on so many levels if well-intended.

  • Yeah a mate passed it on

  • It is also a unique feature of the British class system that every cunt with large windows overlooking a huge garden think they have some sort of superior knowledge, meaning they can always teach those poor mindless grunts in front line services a thing or two on how to do their jobs.

  • If I go to hospital (non covid-19 related) then should I self isolate at home for 7 or 14 days afterwards?

  • Depends if you go to a hospital with a clean zone or not...
If not (and this is quite likely now)- 14 days if asymptomatic.
(all house must isolate for 14)
7 days total if symptomatic and resolution within that time period.
Criteria for more than 7 days of symptoms is more complicated- call 111 if 5-7 days of persitent symptoms, worsening, etc, etc.
    Call 999 if significant deterioration.

But again- just ask the hospital.

  • 55 full face visors printed and shipped to a central depot for distribution to hospitals.

My print nozzle has worn out so won't be able to make any more PPE until I can find a replacement.

  • 7 days total if symptomatic and resolution within that time period.

This advice is now disputed by some saying 7 days is not enough as we don't know enough about it to be this certain - will try to find a link.

My brother has tested positive having been ill with bad flu symptoms for three weeks. He was finally advised to visit a drop in centre who tested his vitals and told him he didn't have it. This was followed by a call with a doctor who said he most likely did have it followed by test results that confirm it. Think he is relieved to know (and to know he is over the worst) as his mental health was really beginning to suffer. Now shitting it that he has passed it on to elderly parents who were visiting just as he came down with it. Fingers crossed that they are clear - it has been a month today.

There is no need to find a link.
Keeping on top of the evidence is pretty much my day-day life at the moment.

Moocher asked for guidance. This is as per PHE.

As for the various other studies:
There are studies showing variance of incubation of 7-30(+) days. Variance of symptomatic/infective of 5-22.5(Averages) days, and a bunch else.

There is (possibly) too much poor data around to follow it over the guidance.
PHE/NICE's job is to evaluate that evidence and make the best guess based on it.
Whether or not they have is another question, for another time.

  • At the risk of being all nextdoor.com, our neighbour has a Corona patient at home but keeps going out for walks. Surely this is wrong?

  • yes, absolutely, seriously wrong.

  • The force said there were 1,132 coronavirus-related breaches reported between Saturday and Tuesday, including 494 house parties ā€“ some with DJs and fireworks ā€“ as well as 166 street parties.

    166 street parties. WTAF?

It's ok according to the NHS guidelines.

Do not leave your home if you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) or live with someone who does.
    This is called self-isolation.
If you are self-isolating, you must:
not leave your home for any reason,
other than to exercise once a day ā€“ but stay at least 2 metres (3 steps) away from other people
not go out to buy food or collect medicine ā€“ order them by phone or online, or ask someone else to drop them off at your home
not have visitors, such as friends and family, in your home
You can use your garden, if you have one.

FFS... people are out of work everywhere, but the HO will keep checking minimum income for family visas so now people are at risk of deportation.

Ireland on the other hand just extended everyone's visas. No questions asked.

  • Schools are reopening in Shanghai starting from the end of this month - final year students first, as the college entrance exams are still on (albeit delayed a month). Kind of hoping primary schools don't start again until after summer as I live next door to one and it's noisy. Weird to think that things are so normal here again, can't help but think we're all going to get struck down by a second wave.

  • Are there any signs of a second wave and is it back to life as before?

  • Cool. That makes me happier.

  • From what I've read almost every pandemic has had a second wave so I guess it's very likely that this one will too

  • Nothing official, but it seems unlikely there a) wouldn't be one and b) it wouldn't be covered up.

Life kind of as normal, masks all day every day, still can only have 50% of people in the office at any one time, gatherings are banned, foreigners are evil.

  • A fiver. Have already ordered a replacement

  • Ruislip's Breakspear Crematorium designated as one of three London 'overflow' mortuaries.
Unattended by family services restricted to 5 minutes duration with faith representative of choice on site to administer due respect to the departed.
I'm assuming the ample parking space allows for refrigerated trailers to store corpses then coffins.
