  • Quick test. The long stem and the handlebars' forward sweep means the load ends up all the way at the front, so not ideal. The general angle is also wrong, as it is the child seat is too vertical.

  • Would it help if you had it facing backwards? Hard to say for sure from the pic, but it still looks a bit like the weight would be way too far forwards.

  • Yeah, I’ve been through this process with my mini maxi

    I ended up with the cheap one child halfords bike trailer. It’s smaller than the other flasher bike trailer on the market but the footprint is nearly exactly the same size as the stand cargo rake for the mini maxi. Have you tried turning it the other way round so the narrower end sites under the handle bars. It’s nice to be able to keep and eye on the little one and have a chat too. It does mean it’s like peddling a fridge into the wind at times but I’m not sure it makes much difference.

  • It'd be safer to have the childseat facing you, yeah?
