I think I/we might have Coronavirus thread (release your isolation-frustration here)

The guidance, updated over the weekend, now states that workers who are unable to do their jobs because of caring responsibilities resulting from coronavirus can be furloughed. In practice, this means parents whose children cannot attend school could be put on furlough rather than taking annual leave or unpaid leave to look after them.

We are considering this as splitting my work day up is pretty tricky as it is 95% client calls. It's not like I can catch up with those in the evening after mini_com is asleep.

A "have they had it" antigen/antibody test (more than likely a blood test) should be positive for stage (e) and, depending on specificity and sensitivity, possibly stage (d).

Wonder if they'll set up antigen tests for all those that failed the initial test?

God knows what's next with their nonsense.

I get that they're under a lot of pressure to deliver and i completely sympathise, (particularly at the moment) but no one called today from UPS, no one rang my bell, no van, no nothing.

I wouldn't even mind if they said "sorry we just didn't have time because of how busy we are, but we'll get it to you tomorrow!"

....but to pass them blame to me is maddening.

Too old for that sort of thing these days. And insufficiently inclined to wash my trousers with the frequency that that sort of thing entails.

Nah, I've had hayfever before, I just sneeze a lot and my eyes go red. I've not really had it for years though. This is like I had when I was feeling short of breath/like someone was pressing down on my chest, just less bad. And it hurts to breath past about 80-90% capacity. Colleague at work is currently experiencing the same thing and he was the one who had to have an ambulance called out because he was struggling to breath. Also did weekend turbo in the garden. I probably overdid it tbh, I seem to have slipped back into the fatigue thing since.

I know you're worried about being put on SSP but if you can't do normal day to day activities without ending up short of breath and almost fainting you shouldn't be working, even from home. Your employer should realise that it makes more sense to have you back feeling better even if it takes a short term hit of more sick leave.

I went back after a week off and it was too soon, I lasted two and a half days, got fuck all done and ended up having nearly another week off. But my boss did the responsible thing and told me not to come back until I was actually better.

Everyone here knocks the window / door, drops parcel, runs 5 meters and shouts PARCEL!!! which is fair enough. Don't be surprised if it ends up in a bin or random place with a "it's in the garden" note.

I guess covid19, nor anything, will never change courier company excuses :)

well as I had a royal mail delivery at around the same time the invisible man from UPS apparently came by, so...

I live in a flat so I normally buzz them up and then stick my head out of the hall window which so I can look out at the lobby window. Then give them a thumbs up as they come through, to signal to leave it by my door. Its been very successful so far.

A case of "we didn't bother then" rather than "you have 3 seconds to run down the steps" the local RM van postie is really good at that. Not the regular one, he always waits and is happy to have a chat.

As you say probably super busy, maybe UPS is reducing targets so people don't have to make things up, but I'm not sure.

All Saints now tells everybody deliveries take longer, but they use DPD.

...apparently UPS interpenetrates 'delivered' as dumped in the drive without telling anyone.

I happened to refresh the delivery update page and saw that it had been 'delivered' 2 mins ago so rushed down, if i hadn't it could have been easily stolen.

Sister tested positive. Been ill for around ten days. Was ill a few weeks ago too. Rest of the household presumably have it too (two young kids, hard to isolate) but seem pretty chirpy. I'm really worried about her but not much to do except wait it out.

Sorry to hear that. Am I right in thinking that she's NHS? If so hopefully that's why she got tested and not because she's got a bad case of it?
