Re building this out of storage (after a year and a half collecting dust), as well as rollers (not remembering when these were last used), was today's mimi lockdown related project.
I'm so unfit!

Looks great! It pairs well with the retro looking rollers

If that gear is in any way acceptable on rollers, then yes.

I paid £125 for it, quite happily. It's in club colours and it's nice to have another one. I also won't feel too bad riding this through flooded winter lanes. Will spray some frame saver in it tomorrow.
I have a silver Campag Veloce groupset that I think I'll sell/swap out for Sora R3000 for this but I also have a silver Powertap currently on silver rims so will maybe rebuild it onto something else.
Black or silver spokes for silver hub with black rim?
-
• #125806
Not fussed on the spokes given that hubs are pretty much hidden when built up. What's the Sora gonna be? Match to that I suppose.

silver spokes for silver hub
Always. Black spokes in silver hubs look rank.

Sounds correct, thanks.
Silver nipples generally look like the right choice to me no matter the hub/rim combination.
That said it might be better to sell and buy another one in black... -

Spray Bike colour with a Matt finish clear top coat.

Very true! I also went out for a bit afterwards and was almost struggling on flat when wind was in my face. Haven't sat on a bike for weeks now, and am also sleep deprived with a newborn at home.
I've (sadly) also given up (hence the storage) the idea of commuting with that bike since we've moved the other side of Crystal Palace, which is annoying, so I was happy to have found a reason to use the bike. -

Horses for courses.
Could say the same of black rims with a braking surface...

So - colour, fresh decals, clear top coat? It looks great.
-
• #125813
Exactly that. If it’s warm out and you're patient enough to do enough coats - can get a good result

A very optimistic mudguard removal.

Yes, but you're pretty much stuck with those if you want a wide selection of metal rims, whereas black spokes involve paying extra to make your bike look worse.

• #125816
Black everything looks good. Silver hubs always with silver spokes for sure though.

Annoyingly I've lost the bar for my press and so can't fit a headset.
Think it'll build up into something nice, half and half parts bin for now.

Not a current project yet, but I have become obsessed with this Peg, and want my next project to be something like it. If anyone sees a second hand Pegoretti Day is Done, 60cm then please about. I realise the chances of this are slim to none.

I have got a MBK Super Record which has this very geometry and tubes shapes. Sticked Columbus SL if it helps and the fork has no specific sticker or anything.

How much is he asking for? Nice frame depending on the money and definitely has loads of potential to be built up into a nice bike.
