wireless is pretty convenient
You'd have thought it would be a no-brainer to include a microSD card slot in wireless headphones so you could take the radio out of the loop, but I can't find anything but crappy cheap ones with that facility.
Taken to silly audiophile extremes, a 512GB card would hold over 24 hours of 24 bit stereo 96kHz uncompressed PCM, which should be enough to be getting along with, or almost a week's worth of 16bit/44.1kHz with lsls cmprsn.
Yeah, I'm reaching this conclusion. However there is (for me) a pay off between sound quality and convenience, and wireless is pretty convenient.
I am idly considering a wired headphone rig as well.
