  • Bringing this thread back to life as I’ve got a few gumwalls that are filthy - I’ve tried white vinegar, fairly liquid and a green scourer pad, ‘astonish’ which have shifted a bit but nothing to really shout about...

    I’ve used toothpaste on white brake hoods and that works a treat! Will try on tyres...

    Met a guy on T’eroica who suggested a rubber rejuvenator but can’t recall the product name...

    I’ve also seen folks applying seamgrip prior to using new gumwalls to keep them fresh for longer, I’ve tried this and it didn’t make much difference in my opinion...

    Any other hints tips and cheats?

  • I've had very good results with Jif cleaning cream. If the tires aren't too bad, agitate with a soft brush. Otherwise, a green "scotch brite" will get the most stubborn grime off.
