I suspect that Johnson is being lined up as the toxic waste canister that the whole C19 handling topic can be dropped in before it's heaved over the side of the boat. As ever, the Tory party will focus on what is the most expeditious method of keeping power, and tying all the negative to Johnson (a retirement due to his health) allows Sunak to take over smoothly without the allowing Cheltenham side of things to taint him.
