You need to know a few things
- Is it momentary i.e. when you let go does it break.
- Is it latching ? i.e. does it stay on until you press it again.
- Is it normally open or normally closed ( best guess open)
Once you know this you should be good to go.
I probably have a spare one of these if it is suitable
- Is it momentary i.e. when you let go does it break.

Cheers. I'll check those points.

Using a monitor connected to my laptop, most software will embiggen to full screen, but a remote desktop connection doesnt.
I find this annoying and distracting. I dont need any more annoyances or distractions. Help!?
EDIT. Done.

stamps question.
To post my letter costs £1.64.
Will a £1.35 stamp + a 1st Class stamp cover it?
Thanks.

1st Class stamp
If it's "non value indicator", a first class letter stamp is currently worth 76p, so the answer is yes. If it's a very old one showing a value of <29p, then no 🙂

You press down to turn on and it stays turned on until you press it again, but it doesn't lock like a standard light switch.
So..
- Momentary
- Latching
- Open
Right?
Mine only has 3 pins, but I guess a 6 pin one if these should be fine if I just connect one side:
- Momentary

It is either momentary or latching, your is latching, normally open
switch looks fine

Any suggestions on where to park around UCH (next to Warren St.)? I'm chauffeuring my girlfriend to an appointment and will have a couple of hours to wait around as I'm not allowed in with her.

There's plenty of parking near Senate House off Gower Street. Usually full of coaches for the tourists, but I'm guessing they'll be few and far between at the moment.

your is latching
That's not how I interpreted his description, sounds more like momentary contact with the control logic changing state on a rising pulse.
Testing with a continuity tester would give a definitive answer, but I guess if @hugo7 was the kind of person who had a continuity tester, he wouldn't have been asking in here in the first place 🙂

where to park around UCH (next to Warren St.)
If you're just going to sit there with your feet up on the dashboard, Grafton Mews seems as good a place as anywhere. £5 per hour starting at the time you first see a warden 🙂

TBH how it functions afterwards is less important than it being able to just turn off and on.
Here's a video

Latching. I was going to suggest that a sound file in place of a continuity test would let us guess the mechanical function 🙂

Cheers. I'll see what I can find tomorrow around there. I can't imagine many traffic wardens will be out.

I have a damaged BB on my frameset, which is BSC threaded / 68mm wide.
At the moment, I have an Oxford threadless BB that I purchased from a French website (I'm based in France), that is solving the problem greatly but it is 116mm wide.
I need the 110mm wide, but when I purchased it again on this size on the website it is not the Oxford one, it doesn't fit (don't understand why, as if frame BB is too thin in width) and above all requires a chamfer whereas the oxford one fit well as it is.
1) Does anyone know where can I get the Oxford BB in 110mm wide?
2) is there any other solution like re-threading (I hear that it is possible with italian threads, but wouldn't it be impossible to find a BB of 68mm wide with Italian thread, JIS taper?)? -

I've used one of these before and it worked fine

thanks for the suggestion, this do not need any chamfer addedd to the frame or anything?
-
• #101496
Not that I recall

I bought this one some time ago:
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/bottom-brackets/1105-threadless-68-mm-sealed-bearing-bottom-bracket-for-frames-with-damaged-threads/?sessionid=111517a1013be5ea45273b8d86c490359ebf0861This is actually an Oxford threadless bb like the one you already have.
The 110mm is out of stock but maybe ask if they can get it for you. -

Some help on a dripping tap. I've tried to tighten the handles but there is still the drip-drip-drip. This is the offending tap.
