Otherwise intelligent people copying & pasting swathes of specious text on the pretext of sharing information.
I mean, come on.

Just got a whatsapp forward from an engineer friend along the lines of :
"There's a new bank scam going around. You will be sent a message saying a payment hasn't gone through and the second you click the link, the money is gone."
He's an engineer FFS, surely he can understand how this is useless/fake?! -

Some couple from my gf's work went through this. Forgot their job functions but she works in it and he is rather high up in management. He wanted to buy something on fb marketplace or something like that, and must have went through some scammer page that looked like his bank so bye log-in details and bye €20k... FFS people

My flatmates are beginning to get to me. One working in the kitchen. The other c constantly washing sheets, ironing, up stairs, downstairs. Shouting and laughing to each other from whatever room they happen to be in. Can barely get any food in the fridge.
Fuck off back to work!
I actually have to go to a physical workplace, can't even come home once a week to a peaceful household :(

Long queue of people on one side of the street for the chemist. Other side of the road is empty. If you want to walk past cross the fucking road don’t squeeze past the queue of people on the pavement.

A close friend's dad has it, is in palliative care, and is expected to die in the next few days. He's 90 and has had bad dementia for a while, but it's still a rotten way of going out. Her mum is suffering terribly because she's only been able to see him briefly, in full PPE, for an hour, in the last week. As so many report, not being able to be there is one of the worst things about it.

I've a friend from Northern Italy with elderly parents+family out there and each time I call I've tried to mentally prepare myself for news that someone close is passing and they can't fly out for funerals or do anything to see them again. So so many people must be in this positon.

get up at 5:30am for a solitary walk in the woods, only to have some jogging cunt's massive dogs gallop up to us demanding attention and getting way too fucking close in the process. advice to "put your dogs on a fucking lead!" met with the usual "don't worry, they're safe!" nonsensical, self centred cockery.
-

Genuine question: is this largely because you're nervous around dogs?
I have been looking after/walking someones dog as she can't in the current situation and my opinions about how well behaved he is are at odds with hers... He is perfectly safe but will try and say hello to anyone/everyone so I have been keeping him firmly on the lead.

Even if a dog is safe, do other people's preferences count for nothing?
Not everyone wants a dog humping their leg/slobbering over them, running around their feet etc. In non-corona times when I used to occasionally eat a snack or whatever on the grass in the park, you're practically always disturbed by some twat's "friendly" dog sticking their nose in your crotch or your food.
When I used to work in schools, quite a few children were scared of dogs.

This is the rant thread.
And yeah nobody needs some random’s dog bothering them at the best of times, certainly not now.
Hell is other people (s’ dogs)

If had the same thing from someone wearing waders on tooting bec that felt everyone that didn't want muddy dog paws on them should be wearing waders and not just regular jeans.

It feels like we are living one long bank holiday weekend. What’s not to like?

I like to spend my bank holidays going for long rides with friends or spending a long time in a beer garden with friends :(

I was supposed to be at a wedding in Finland this weekend. With the bank holidays, that would have made for an ideal weekend away + time to relax after...

Been sitting trying to join a zoom meeting for about 20 minutes for the new course I'm starting.
My skepticism about how well this would work being delivered digitally is not being eased. -

This weekend is going to be a damn waste of bank holidays.
Feeling you.
I mean, it’s a total first world problem given that I’m still employed/getting paid and I’ve not really got any work to do but I’d taken fri, mon and tue off and had hoped to get away for some camping which it’s looking like the weather would have been good for.
To make it even more first world the daft way our leave works means taking public holidays at Easter doesn’t cost you any leave (you have to claim the leave/pay back if you work then) so I’m only really missing out on 1 day, the Tuesday, but it’s still a bummer.
I’ve got another couple days booked at the end of the month and then a load in June for a holiday (to northern Italy!) that we’ve cancelled so hopefully we are back at work by then as we’re not being allowed to cancel any leave while “working from home”.

Yes, we were supposed to be in Girona for partner's birthday. Suck my nuts, Corona.
This, my brother-in-law's wife, is a nightmare for this she is the original Dr Google just sending out loads of information which I keep asking for her to provide the source for which she cant. Drives me nuts
