  • You’ve been making this prediction for over a week now

My prediction was within two weeks, made a week ago. This was based on personal experience of the decision making process, conversations I had had with local police officers about what they are reporting up the chain of command and conversations I have had with my former colleagues at PHE.

  • Dulwich woods were pretty fucking rammo today.

  • This is why we can’t have nice things.

When I’m taken out in a hail of bullets having gone in the rampage because I’m not allowed a 25 minute run round my block as a result of nob heads going to the fucking park to hang out with their friends you can say you knew why I did it.

Seriously my mental health will be an absolute cluster fuck if I can’t go for a jog every now and then. Fucking selfish pricks.

  • I’ve run thru Greenwich Park a few times this week and cycled thru an hour ago. Really hasn’t been too bad, only saw one picnic today, and that was clearly one family. People have finally sussed they can walk on the grass rather than clog up the paths. Still lots of cars at Deer Park Gate mind.

  • Same. The vast majority of people in parks I've seen have been small groups (familes and couples) well spread out.

It shouldn't be surprising that more people are using parks. London is big. Flats are small. Most don't have gardens. Nothing else is open.

    The knobs are a minority.

  • that and babyccinos

    And adults wearing Crocs.

  • People just shouldn’t be driving to fucking parks to hang out! I don’t understand why gov guidelines can’t just explicitly say that. Stretch your legs from your own home or >>>>>>

(Not you obvs I mean the collective ‘you’)

  • I rode past a local golf course yesterday. The owners of that had parked vehicles across the pedestrian entrances to stop people trying to access it.

All that wide open space and yet because it's a golf course, it somehow warrants 'protection'. Tory cunts.

  • Surely that depends on how close your local park is? Not everyone has one on their doorstep. Parks are the best place to go to get exercise and maintain social distancing, keeping them open should be a priority, especially in London and other large cities.

By all means enforce social distancing and split up groups and move people on who are just hanging out, but if this lockdown is going to go on for the medium term, you need to allow people to get outside and keep healthy. Not everyone has the luxury of a garden either.

  • I didn’t say close the parks. I said police people driving to them to hang out. It’s possible to get a bit of exercise in the vicinity of home. You know it is. Most of us are doing that with no problems, socially distancing and not taking the piss out of the guidelines. Those who can’t resist pushing it are now putting all of our basic liberty to get some air at risk.

Further to that your particular argument doesn’t account for the majority of people in central London who don’t have cars.

Nobody is saying people who are in the vicinity of a bloody park shouldn’t jog through it.

Reading your response again it seems we’re essentially saying the same thing - clamp down on people not simply taking basic and responsible exercise before prohibiting us all from getting out a bit. Worryingly I think the minority may have already fucked it for the rest of us.

  • I rode past a local golf course yesterday. The owners of that had parked vehicles across the pedestrian entrances to stop people trying to access it.

That was my first thought. But I wonder if they’re better closed because; a) it’s another expanse of land to police, which will need policing because b) people will go and play golf.

  • Looking forward to Queenie tonight. She'll provide the intricate level of detail we need about what is an acceptable distance and time for a bike ride.

  • 8pm. All channels.

  • All channels.

    Even Eurosport?

  • "fuck this. Charles is in charge!"

  • partner's sister apparently went out to friends' last night. Partner now asking if she can hang out with us tonight because she lives by herself and has been finding it tough so feel like a harsh bastard if I say no.

Disapprove on both fronts tbh... If she hadn't been boozing with mates I'd be more amenable to it I guess, but don't see why I should be limiting myself just to potentially catch it off her anyway.

Going to say no and be a mardy twat, fuck it.

  • Zoom, Skype or whatever. Best for everyone to keep physically separate.

  • This is her 4th ever one eh? Impressive long-term social distancing.

  • Went for a quick Essex spin today and was happy to see police cars and officers at High Beach turning away anyone who was arriving by car. Cyclists were fine to roll through.

  • babyccinos

Aren't cunty, kids love that stuff.

  • I would have been satisfied with a written apology for her and Phil ducking off to their 2nd home. But, thoughtful of her to do a live apology.

  • Aren't cunty, kids love that stuff.

This is true. Kids - in my experience anyway - like warm foamy milk.

Boils my piss when the foam to liquid ratio is wrong though. If in doubt More foam!

  • Went for a short walk along the riverside a few minutes ago when I absolutely couldn't stand to stay in anymore - yeah it's a bit full out there. My issue is not really with everyone wanting to get some sun and fresh air (and let's face it, the air out there is probably fresher than anyone has had it in the last two hundred years or so), but with some knobs making absolutely no effort to do the whole 'distancing' thing. Ironically not so much all those evil cyclists and bad joggers, but just some normal people going for a walk with their dog.

I also saw a number of old people sitting in cars - clearly they had driven in just to sit in their car by the riverside. I kind of get the idea, but I'm not sure they're helping much either.
