  • Last of the Summer Sadako

  • Nice one!

  • BA Tonka bean stout from De Molen/ Surrey Hills / Cobbetts. Picked up at Surrey Hills while having a Shere Drop fresh as a daisy a couple of weeks ago. Was intending to keep it ........
    Does not disappoint!

  • I'm drinking a 2013 Fullers Vintage Ale, 6+ years in a cupboard and it's improved nicely.

Very malty, quite sweet, less heavy on the alcohol compared to 2013 drinking (considering the 8.5%)

  • Rode over to Ealing Brewery. Grabbed a growler of Pocahontas American IPA 6.8% and a bottle of their IRS or something (imperial russian stout) at 9,2%. Skipping and drinking IPAs ftw.

  • Mongozo Banana is disgusting.

  • This some good shit

  • Holy jellybeans, I've been trying to remember what the was called for years! Thanks.

All these damned posts are making me itch to order a batch for next weeks sun. What's a good local-sh brewery to order from at the moment?

  • https://www.beerishere.org/ stick your postcode in and it'll show you all breweries you can order from. The Kernel is usually a safe bet.

  • Yeah. That's not helpful whatsoever. That list was 100 result long....
    You've doomed me.

  • Where abouts are you and what sort of beers do you like?

  • Oddly enough doesn't bring up any place I already use but did show me a brewery I'd not heard of.

  • Flavourly seems to have quite a lot of stuff at decent prices.

This seems to be a bargain for instance

Edit: just noticed that I probably found this offer from about half a dozen posts up

  • That’s really useful, cheers!

  • I'm in the Cloudwater delivery zone for every Saturday. Carlsberg don't make lockdown weekends, but it they did...

  • Got my box of Deya today.

  • Put an order in with BrewDog to stock the fridge in the hopes of a nice weekend, and have now realised delivery will be next week.
    Mild facepalm.

  • I've tried a couple of the Flavourly boxes when really cheap deals came along (pound a can with free delivery), and don't think they're really worth it. Many of the beers taste like average larger or very average pale ale type things. Nothing "interesting". You would do as well getting what ever is cheap at the supermarket. The beers are all brewed for flavourly, so the breweries involved are just cranking stuff out to a bargain price I think.

My favourite cheap beer box was the Beer Hawk mystery case, which when they had offers on was also around a pound a beer. Really random stuff at or just after the best before date. There would always be some 8% plus IPA, strange sours and other oddballs, along with nice "normal" beers.

  • I thought that since posting the link initially but, given the circumstances, I can still do with 20 supermarket-level lager beers brought to the house at that price.

I do need to order up some more 'interesting' beers though. Will have to do another All Good or do a Clapton Craft order. I want a whole load of Belgian beers I think, including more Westmalle.

I've had more beer delivered to my house since this began than in the six years before it combined.

  • Yeah the Flavourly stuff is definitely a bit basic but at a quid a can you can't complain too much.
