The 1988 steering assembly is utter crap by today’s or even 90’s standards. All bushings running on wood screws. Somehow manages to be heavy, weak and with loads of slop.
Liberal application of AW grease and some shims got it running better. Had the hub carriers off too to add a spot of grease on their pivots too as they were also a bit draggy.
Servo seemed much happier when all back together.
Next - sorting the messy wiring out.
