I had a crash on my Brompton and broke off a few bits.
One thing I need to replace is the nylon hook which holds the front wheel in place when folded.
Before I just get a straight replacement are any of the alternatives better?

Don't suppose anyone has got a spare brake pad holder knocking about (older style fibrax one, no wings)? The grub screw on one is impossibly stuck. Honestly it's no wonder I don't do much maintenance when every job turns into a big hoohah.
(And yes, I know if I did more regular maintenance it wouldn't be such a hoohah each time).

Some are good, but nothing I have tried is quite as good tbh.

I'm in SE23 and have a handful of these.
I'm guessing, but I think you are local - ??? -

While I support the idea, why are Brompton so poor on the little things?
Look at the bloody saddle rails.

Those rims are tasty...
No +1 lacing for disc side? You've built quite a few of this now so I guess it should be fine. Just curious!

Brommieplus rims, usually use minimods. Just didn’t have stock for the time frame!
1x or 2x is fine with such small wheels!

I love this bike, it’s been on some great trips with me. Trouble is, I have ended up with three and I need to de-clutter when all this is over. This is an S6LX and is from late 2000s. It has the narrow ratio 3 speed. I bought it from the original owner who’d used it in London but then retired to Derbyshire. It went to a Brompton main dealer for a check over and they replaced bottom bracket, chain, rear sprockets, chain ring, pedals, brake levers and gear shifters. I would put the original seat and stock black grips back on, but if there’s any enthusiastic interest in this once this is all over, let me know!

I have some time on my hands and my chain and chainset are long past their best, it's an old model so I understand I need to replace the BB to use the new chain rings. I made this list of things I need to replace, but as a Brompton newb I want to check I've not missed a part and won't end up with a bike in pieces missing the one thing i need to put it all back together again...
31180 - New spider crankset
31207 - New BB, option to pick Kuosac or Ti part but Ti part needs additional work to frame to fit Ti, a good weight saver given that the new bb is heavier than the older (pre 2007) one
13748 - Chain
40454 - Rear sprocket for 3 speed SRA hub
13755 - Chain tensioner replacement wheels ? -

I put some new tyres on my 2 speed today. I noticed that he wheel is very much not central in the forks. Not noticed it before, but maybe I missed it.. I'd love somebody to tell me this is normal

Just not fitted right? You put the bike on the floor, push down on bars and tighten?

Due to this virus, Brompton have lifted the rules; key shops can now post new bikes!
