I wonder if any of you impressively knowledgeable lot could help a complete and utter noob who is in urgent need of some wheels in order to get to work..

Neither are great. Check the classifieds, you’ll get a lot better off here for the money.

cheers Tonts. I've kept an eye out but most things are usually higher spec + value than I what someone at my level should aim for. lots of amazing hardware, though.
