  • New Zealand is in full lock down which means the shop is closed and I'm at home. No new bikes, but thought I'd throw repost the big bike.

Out of the box the Honzo doesn't make a huge amount of sense (to me) with a steep head angle and short travel fork. Since buying it I've replaced both the airshaft and the damper on the fork bumping it up to 160mm of travel. I've also gone ahead and installed a -2° angleset, swapped the brakes out for some 4 piston TRP Quadiems and rebuilt the rear wheel on to a Stans Flow ex after the oem one gave up on life.

This all adds up to a bike that weighs more than most full suspension rigs, while still being a handful as soon as the trail gets rough. But on the flipside it's very low maintenance, reliable and cheap.

Planning on running it singlespeed for the winter but that's going to have to wait till after the lockdown...
