    If it’s airborne filtering masks won’t be a barrier to that, though they may redirect air.

    Yeah. I'm not sure where this "it's more airborne" thing is coming from, but if it is able to remain viable for long periods suspended in air, you'd need a better quality of breathing apparatus than the goofy facemasks that every man and his dog seem to have acquired over the last couple of days to have a fair chance of filtering it out.

    I suspect what is driving the Austrian thing is more about limiting transmission through droplets on to surfaces that are hard to clean or receive no cleaning, i.e. packets of food on a shelf.
