Stupid, but I really want the yellow handled one now (already got the normal one).
Deffo came individually btw.

It's on my list. Post lockdown treats.
Pollen Bakery had the long bread knife as a single item for a while. Should've got one on reflection.

Not stupid at all. Don't even think that in this thread ;)

Its the folding 12cm serrated no.12 thats hard to find seperately, which I don't think comes outside the kit.

Ah, sorry thought you were talking about opinel bread knives.
Quite fancy going to the opinel factory shop try to do a factory tour, if they do one.

Hadn't spotted that. I want that set now!

Fuck knows what I'm going to use them all for.
It's obvious. The curved ones are for curved things.
The straight ones are for cutting straight things in relation to their size.
The vegetable peeler is for gutting Polar Bears.

Sounds spot on, ta!

Played about with adding some grip / texture with a soldering iron.
Felt a bit tougher than I expected, so I tried knocking it down with some scrap rough sandpaper.
Last night I wasn't that keen as it fucked up the stippled finish. But actually I now quite like it as it's basically made those areas feel soft and grippy, rather than hard and very grippy...if that makes sense.
To anyone else trying it id recommended lightly marking out the area in pencil. I lightly scored it with another knife around the main contact areas, but the scoring remains.
I think you can tidy the finish up with a heat gun if you have one.

Can’t you spend a night isolated in the woods?

The authorities are being quite clear that this isn't acceptable because they are worried about others following suit.

Around here (Stockholm) there haven't been any bans on being out and about and for example bars are still open (but you shouldn't, as a precaution, drink in the actual bar, but at a table further away from other people...) so that wouldn't be a problem as such. My problem is more my partners mild anxiety about the whole situation. But my problems are very small compared to many others

Finally got around to making some progress on my paring knife.
Very rough job using standard diy tools. It really makes you appreciate how easy the pros make it look.
Still need to do a bit more tuning of the fit before getting the epoxy out. A job best left for the day time and fresh eyes.
As long as nothing goes wrong, I think the red and black liners will go nicely with the cherry wood once it's all done.

I got two for my dad (one for London and one for France) and had a lovely sheath made from wolfe customs.
Here are my posts on it:

Unfortunately his website has gone, but he may still be on FB which is where he did most of his stuff anyway.

Yeah.
All the YT vids have people neatly taping them. I tried that and the edge just cut through it and made me fear for my fingers so just went to town.

The Bahco Laplander is excellent but if you need to cut a lot of stuff the Silky Gomboy cuts faster, stays sharp for longer and is much more nicely made.
