Noice.
Got a message from Openreach saying they were out today to fix. Have just received another message saying they were unable to fix.
I have no fucking idea what that means. Really helpful.
Another day tethered on the phone I guess...

Why buy those when these exist

You will adjust, as the body does to anything.
I remember when I worked on a busy shop floor, my legs and feet killed. A few months later it was nothing.
Just sit for periods if you need a rest, until adapted. -

Did you not spot the massaging rubber nubs?

A lot of WFH set up envy. My neck is starting to get a little disgruntled after two and a half weeks of this.

Would take approx 2 and a half minutes for that to start troubling me

It's not my house. Living with in-laws while my kitchen was being remodelled. Building work has stopped. Water is off. Here for the long-haul.
...meaning I don't have a lot of choice. le sigh

Reasonably content with my setup, but I seem to be getting elbow pain.

Having a decent desk with a couple of monitors at home has finally paid off.

Any recommended online retailers for a 23-24" monitor? Amazon have some for £90 ish, deliverable on Thursday. Any improvements on this?

Try eBuyer?

If you can stretch to it I've got two of these Xenta 24" Monitor Full HD VGA HDMI With Height Adjustable Stand from eBuyer £104 makes a whole world of difference with the height adjustable stand.

Just stick the wireless mouse on a piece of A4 paper. Also saves it picking up cruft from the worktop.
And, yes, raising the monitors will work well. Google for workstation setup guide and you should find something. Start with whatever can't easily be altered (usually either seat height or worktop height for keyboard).

Cheers for the quick reply. Annoyingly paper slides all over the worktop so I'll have to think of another solution- it's very shiny. Maybe a mouse mat (90's thowback anyone?) with a tacky underside or something.

Get a roller ball mouse. Far superior and solves the issue
Also, perhaps just stand.
-
• #272
do you have adjustable elbow rests? a ergo mouse and keyboard might help too
a colleague swears by this

Masking tape an A4 paper to the worktop, it's what I'm doing and it works. Doesn't need much to stop it slipping.

I have that exact mouse. It's brilliant. I had tennis elbow and this worked almost instantly
Mine is wireless however

Coincidentally I just bought a vertical mouse before seeing any of these posts, and that Anker was one of the ones I was considering! Ended up going with something different because I didn't see these recommendations, though.
One of my workmates was telling me he uses a Penguin: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Posturite-Ambidextrous-Alleviates-Easy-Glide-Compatible/dp/B007GFYMCE/ref=sr_1_1_sspa
His main recommendation of it was:
it looks like a novelty sex toy tbh
... which, you know. As valid a reason as any other.
Started clearing the space for the drawing desk this afternoon! Back to hunched for now but hopefully get it set up in a couple days. I might crochet myself a lumpy mat...
