I can see how the Merckx ticks the good box but it completely fails the ugly bit

Yeah it’s not the rat bike I need. Been mugged and robbed too much this year

I like that Merckx. Is that a vintage frameset or a sort of neo-retro one? Sorry to hi-jack you thread by the way radar71

Thanks all. That Merckx is beautiful. unfortunately not the rat bike look I'm trying to project. basically my neighbor is watching.

If you want it not to get nicked, I'd say more recent would be safer. I'd go for like a mid-2000s top end bike, something more like an old s-works which isn't old enough to look vintage + hipster friendly but old enough to look scruffy

moser is beautiful. I've just bought a bike, so no longer need. Thanks.
Just got my second carbon frame fancy bike stolen this year. So, I'm giving up on having one in Hackney.
Lo0king now for a bike that works really well, but was top of the line in like, 1987 or something. Would prefer complete bike that I can start with, then customise later.
Previous bike was an excellent fit. Cannondale Synapse 2018, 56cm. Equivalent size please.
Thanks!
