which motorcycle are you going to get in 2 years?

I don't see how going out for a lycra ride alone is comparable to the dumb fucks stopping together for a takeaway coffee.
-
• #380
because the germs get stuck on your bike wheel and you carry them out, out, out into the fields where a shrew could breathe them in, which is actually very cruel
-
• #381
I guess running in the park with all the other runners, dog walkers, families and 70 year olds is fine as long as I don't wear lycra.
-
• #382
Then someone might eat the shrew and it all happens again oh god

• #383
Obey the guidelines if you want to be considerate towards other people and not called out for being a selfish cunt.

Give it a rest.

Yeah! Fascist! I mean the guidelines are only there to try to save people's lives! It's like living in Nazi Germany sometimes! /Rik

• #386
That gives me an idea.
If I put the tri suit on I bought 7 years ago when I was 7 kg lighter I'm guaranteed a wide birth when I go running!

if I understand the food chain science of this correctly, the consequences are terrifying

£20 donation to the forum says that recreational cycling is restricted entirely within two weeks.
The police are starting to get really fucked off with having to talk to people who consider themselves exempt from the guidelines they have been asked to promote and are talking about it at a national level.
As usual, a small group ruining it for everyone else.
Edit: might be sooner than two weeks if the WHO complete their review and conclude that CV19 is at least partly airborne which is their current suspicion.

Is this why shrewd foragers stick to voles?
-
• #390
With you on this.
The worst bit is people don't seem to be able to foresee the consequences of their own actions. If the excuse for ignoring the guidelines is that riding is vital for mental health, how are they going to cope when it's forbidden? Numpties

So you are happy with police and every man and his dog going by their own interpretations of the law?
Pretty certain my behaviour isn't posing any risk to myself or others and while there are no specific prohibitions in law to adhere to I am going to carry on as I see fit.

That's exactly what you are doing! Whereby the police are applying it fairly uniformly according to the clarifications. I.e you can only exercise near your home and for a reasonable amount of time, generally seen as an hour as the upper limit.
Pretty certain my behaviour isn't posing any risk to myself or others
If the WHO don't know if covid19 can be transmitted via airborne means, how do you?

How about you stop seeing it as a personal infringement of your liberty and life and act accordingly?
You've been asked to stay inside, apart from one hourish of exercise a day. This goes to the choppers in RP who weren't able to be reasonable as well.
There are now people looking to shame people for being out. This will divert resource as they come to deal with this.
It's creating all sorts of knock on effects. Live in a flat with no balcony? -

That's exactly what it is though, whether you agree with the measures or not. It's not something we're "seeing it as".

Dying is a pretty big infringement

Was sitting on the sofa yesterday minding my own business when I heard a soft hiss.
Was emanating from the front wheel of the stationary bike on the turbo trainer which has seemingly punctured itself whilst not even being used.
Wunderbar, this indoor cycling malarky-really vivid how it captures the real experience of cycling in nature right down to the need to repair punctured wheels.

This is potentially the best thread on the forum at the moment.
The lycra argument is my favorite episode. Not sure I have enough popcorn.

• #398
Lycra feels such a faff for a 1 hour ride.
-
• #399
Make sure to turn off the heating before you repair it, and have your partner pour out a watering can over your head very slowly.

for this reason I've a pair of padded lycra pull up shorts that can be flung on with a regular tee and easier than doing whole bib/jersey thing if it's a sub hour pootle or a turbo session.
Comfy enough, looks more casual.
the number's just a guide. the rapha is more of a tell
