  • Instagram has been spamming me with the Top Time. I quite like it which makes me suspicious

  • Wasn't @regal saying very recently that a top time reissue would be a winner? I think it is nice, but looks thick.

  • Likewise am a suspicious admirer! I keep thinking what's the catch (obvs apart from the reassuringly expensive price - mind you, it's £2k less than the similar looking Premier). It's good they haven't gone overboard with the text and kept the face un-Breitlingly subdued. Suspect it's quite chunky and those lugs look a bit long but hopefully this is the first of more Top Times

  • I agree, think it's their best looking range by far and given that every brand seems to be looking through their back-catalogue for inspiration it was surely a matter of time (mind you their pricier chrono's fall pretty close to the TT look).

  • I was. Georges knows what he’s doing.

I’d like to see all the standard white / black / panda / reverse panda colour options as well as the jazzy “Zorro” design, but I’d imagine those will come. Also a bit of a shame they couldn’t find a way to bring it back with a manual fifths-of-a-second movement, but I doubt anyone wants to be making a hand-wound 2.5hz chrono calibre in 2020.

  • Wildly subjective but Pelagos LHD vs Sinn 144 ? Anyone?

  • Like the Breitling... but you can get a lovely original TT for half that price....

  • 41mm vs 36mm though, I imagine they wear very differently. 38-39mm and hand wound I’d have definitely been interested. I really like the original two register TT design (the tri-compax is also nice but a bit more generic, maybe?).

  • Tudor by a mile for me

  • However if it was the Bell and Ross variant.

Might be a closer race imo. 😎

  • Ha - it is the B&R that I’m looking at.

  • True true, but size aside i generally prefer new over old (I know, I know, i'm a philistine!) as I've got a real paranoia about buying a vintage and either breaking it by being too rough with it or getting a fake/franken. I think I'm too ignorant / clumsy / lazy to venture onto the used market and i deffo don't have the money to bear a mistake. Warranties ease my troubled mind :)

  • I agree, i think they should try and shrink the dimensions. I like the two dial design, in general i prefer tri-compax for chronos as sometimes the bottom looks a bit lonely, but the Zorro details help lessen the effect.

  • Depends what you're after - Sinn has more tech etc but Tudor wins for me. I think the dial's more interesting - I really like the 3Dness of the hands and markers and the cut outs from the rehaut.

  • Anyone know what the dial is made from on the Pelagos? Is it the same matte ceramic as the bezel insert ?

  • Pure liquid sex

  • crusty shark jizz

  • From rare Swiss sharks in Lac Leman

  • PVC or leather?

  • Aargh.. timing could not be worse .. two months ago I was dead-set on a Sinn 144 B&R. Now one is being offered at an OK price (albeit in the US so I’ll have to deal with headache of shipping).
In the meantime I started looking for a pelagos because dial/bezel/LHD etc.

Also, now does not feel like the time to be dropping cash on anything that you cannot either eat or wipe your arse with.

  • You could wipe your arse with it... Its depth rated right?
