Caramba, that’s hardcore!

Are the ones arguing for multiple hour bike rides the same ones that were getting annoyed two weeks ago at people gathering in the (still open) pubs and cafes?

can we ban cuntlords hitting golf balls off fences and playing shite music extremely loudly making being at home in your own garden absolutely unbearable too please? k thx bye
Yeah I put a 6ft fence up last week to help block out the new cuntbag neighbours. Potentially stuck at home with them and their little bastard kids for 12 weeks and I’m ready to kill them already. Was bliss getting away from it for an hour on my bike.

I think I am, yes. But it is reasonable to argue that there was an under-reaction that has been replaced by an over-reaction.
Proving this would be tough, but I bet letting Cheltenham festival go ahead killed more people than all the bike rides that have happened since.
Singapore has fewer restrictions than us, but they introduced them earlier and conducted far more effective testing and contract tracing. The net result is fewer cases, fewer deaths, and fewer impositions on personal freedoms.

Why not? After all the argument is that multi-hour bike rides are one of the things very unlikely to infect people, therefore not ban-worthy or really a big problem, whereas obviously social gatherings are the problem.

It's the weekend, you don't need to worry about correcting copy.

Just imagined those in the pubs and cafes saying "well, at least we aren't the ones going to the sporting events and rubbing shoulders with huge crowds".

Agree.

Hey what do you think about the term ‘hoops’ for bicycle wheels?

another great question from forum titan amey. I'd say, short answer: 40% acceptable for rims only.
probably worth splitting into its own thread.
have a great evening amey and all the folks at thriving online community http://www.lufguss.biz

I'm avoiding the cycle paths in Edinburgh. Too many family groups of four or more taking up the entire fucking path. Too many dog owners letting their dogs run all over the place. Too many joggers with massive headphone on running two abreast who can't hear your bell as you approach from behind.

Excellent!

Likewise. Am on the WoL path five days a week but avoided it today, up Leith Walk then Broughton St > George St > Tollcross. Rode down Princes St > Leith St > Picardy Place clusterfuck to Leith for first time in 5+ years. Saw you did a biggish one out to NB?

Yeah, roads seem fine but even Dalmeny estate was full of groups of people. Best just to head out to the lanes I think.

Cycling won't be shitcanned if we do our part in A. following the rulebook ourselves but more importantly B. holding our friends and peers accountable when/if they don't.
I gave a middle aged guy in rapha a bollocking in Regent's yesterday after he close passed me that I hope he won't forget in a hurry.
I don't have a turbo trainer and anything I can do to stave off the banning of cycling I'll do it.
Masks and gloves etc aren't necessary for anyone who isn't doing a high risk occupation. Keep your hands away from your face until you get home and then wash them. Or better yet get home, strip off, jump in the shower and wash yourself all over and then have a delightful 5 minutes picking your nose or whatever.
