^ tbf my 'blame the neighbours' comment above was related to the fact they've been off their tits on a pint of drugs, dancing in their front garden since about 9am playing 270bpm music at more decibels than I'd know what to do with.

The main relevant bit is this:
So he's saying that in Bergamo from March 1 to 24, this year 446 people died, in the last 10 years on average just 98. So there's 348 'extra' deaths. However, officially in that time only 136 people died of Covid-19, leaving 212 deaths unaccounted for - according to him, with the same symptoms.
Molti anziani, riferisce il sindaco del Pd, muoiono nelle proprie abitazioni o nelle Rsa "senza che sia stato possibile anche solo diagnosticare loro la malattia".
Many old people, he says, die in their own homes or in care homes without their illness even being diagnosed. Sounds pretty grim...

I too don´t read Italian, but a friend of mine who does paraphrased the reporting out of Lombardia as indicating that loads of Covid-19 deaths are recorded as pneumonia fatalities, which is nothing sinister as it is the final cause of death. Ditto in Germany.

Do you have proof of this or is it hearsay?

Last week in work has been mental, as busy as a bank holiday, which is great but pretty much been at work or direct walk home (8 mins away) that's all. Today shut a bit early and took cargo bike out to do a few miles, put some old mc tyres in it and rode with no e assist. Got some oxygen and feel way better. Don't need that every day but defo helps.

There’s nowhere that says that on the article, how did your friend come up with this?

That's possibly true, if they were suspected cases. WHO only released a code to cover suspected cases on 23rd. https://www.who.int/classifications/icd/covid19/en/

Sure, this makes sense as without testing is not possible to determine if it was covid19 or not.

now that we are all WFH, we can all donate our train / bus money
There are also millions of self employed people who have lost 100% of their income.

• #8389
Nah not accepting it please donate.

Obviously people need to decide whether they can afford to donate. Nobody is forcing anyone to do it.

In France the number of deaths caused by Covid-19 is likely higher than the official figure, as the figures include only those deaths recorded in hospitals, and not those recorded in nursing homes.
All from 25/03/2020:
Director general for health Jérome Salomon: "deaths in hospital probably represent a small part of the overall mortality."
https://engnews24h.com/the-number-of-deaths-in-ephad-probably-much-heavier-than-the-official-toll/
And from today (29/03/2020):
"These ARS figures only list deaths in hospital. Deaths in nursing homes or at home are not included."
As noted in Le Monde, the official death toll today is at 2,606, but this still only counts deaths recorded in hospitals.
"La France face au coronavirus : le bilan atteint 2 606 morts dans les hôpitaux depuis le début de l’épidémie"

So everybody sandbagging over figures.
I guess it's still top trumps on the 'offical' stats.

The last link of yours. The mayor reportedly said they are only testing hospital cases.
Many cases won’t make it to hospital.

The article doesn’t say that, it only says there are a few hundred surplus deaths in a single town in a range of 4 weeks, clearly died because of the virus.
Obviously authorities must give a cause of death, and without testing them in those cases is pneumonia.A lot of people still get tested, sent home, receive results over the phone and told to isolate. Few of them dies neglected as there is no actual space in the hospitals of that region.

Stand by please.
Is all this 'blame the neighbours' just the pre-game for absolving the government of all responsibility for the crisis?
It's divide and conquer now they can't blame the NHS, who else can shoulder it? Those people down the road that don't follow the rules like you!
