That was probably better than the Saxobank crotch eagle kit they'd worn

If you’re into vacuous, low content filmmaking with byzantine narratives then the Movistar doc on Netflix is worth a watch

Ideal for watching on the turbo then

Knowledgeable lufgussers, can someone recommend me particularly memorable/exciting classics from the past five years -without giving away the result - that i can watch to get my sports fix? I follow cycling but largely the grand tours so hoping i can find suitable YouTube highlights and entertain myself on lockdown!
Cheers

The Wuhan 2020 Spring Classic result surprised many observers,
but,
it was Zwift-based. -

2015 Ghent wevelgem was pretty good too

The last three editions of Flanders have been decent. E3 from 2015 was also good. For Roubaix, Will is right, the 2016 edition was a belter. I enjoyed last year's too.

Thanks for all the recommendations! Appreciate it's a massive ask but having just tried to find the gent race the YouTube search gave away the result. Fuming. If anyone could be arsed to find English language coverage of their recommendation I'd be forever grateful and could reciprocate with classic rugby/football/cricket/tennis or live folk music performances! x

Currently watching 2016 Flanders (because it came up in the previous search without giving a result), @TV reckons it's a good'un, link here if anyone else has a similar inclination: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWDOwTVWi6A

2011 Paris Roubaix is my favourite

Since there is no racing to watch, what about a discussion of who are your favourite riders of the last decade, and why?
I'll start with a controversial pick. Vincenzo Nibali, because of the panache in his 2014 tdf win, his palmares across stage and one day racing, and the fact he has some devil in him. Not the most talented rider physically, but a very good tactician.
My second choice would be Gilbert. His year of grace was when I really started watching a lot of pro cycling, and his longevity and return to form in recent years sealed the love affair for me. I wish he could have won all five classic monuments, but guess it won't happen now.
To my eye, they also both look right on a bike. Their form and style are awesome.

Can confirm 2016 Flanders was fantastic. Watching Hagler - Hearns now, with the 2019 Amstel Gold Race lined up afterwards...

If you can forgive Rob Hatch's infuriating need to over-pronounce every. single. foreign. word this is a pretty epic stage to watch Contador at his juiced up best...

2010 Flanders - Love the helicopter shot following the ascent of the Muur:

Omloop 2015 - Couldn't find an English commentary for this one though I'm afraid:

for me that is easy. Roy Curvers. recently retired and newly DS at Team Sunweb. Total rider is completely unsung.
That 2011 Halle-Ingooigem win will never be forgotten.

I’ve particularly enjoyed watching the handful of riders who’ve been able to take total control of races through being on another level:
- Cancellara crushing everyone with his Swiss mullet blowing in the wind
- Sagan. Even though he’s not won as much as people thought he would, his Paris Roubaix win was sheer beauty
- Alaphilippe for all of his panache and incredible descending
- Froome has taken grand tour riding to another level and I’ll never forget the mad raid in the Giro but obviously there’s the Sky/salbutamol asterisks
- Obviously it’s a bit soon to be adding MVDP to this list but on last year alone, he warrants inclusion
- Cancellara crushing everyone with his Swiss mullet blowing in the wind
Watched the 2014 Ronde last night, totally forgot how ugly the Tinkoff kit was.
