If it makes you feel any better, it's not exactly an unknown thing in other countries too. People love it when they have a way of feeling morally superior, but even better when they feel sanctioned by the authorities to do it.

The parks panic is a complete red herring. I'll be astonished if a major transmission route is people getting some fresh air. It is all driven by misplaced moral superiority and an innate little Britain desire to finger point.
