It was only on Twitter yesterday, but this is their message:

Something on the road entrances to the Peaks might have a bigger impact.

People will deliberately misinterpret ‘where possible’ and ‘local’ because they’re too vague.
Agree. But the approach so far has been to offer advice where people can read between the lines, then offer more specific, stricter advice when necessary when people don't use their own judgement to follow the spirit of the guidance.
It's disappointing that a lot of people don't seem capable of doing that.

Like this but with FUCK OFF IF YOU DON'T LIVE HERE

Mmmm. I might bbq the pork I just took out of the freezer. (not in a national park, obv)

'Local National Park for local people'?

The advice is for only essential travel. If you're driving up to the peaks for a nice walk then you need to have a word with yourself.

National Pork?

Hopefully the virus incapacitates Trump and Pence and we’ll get acting President Pelosi before the month is out.

Literally over Trump’s dead body I reckon.

This thread has slowed in the last few days, must be a good sign of sorts.
Sadly one cannot go back and compile daily post numbers of this thread. If one could it would, I suspect, show a Bell curve which has peaked. I wonder whether the peak reflects the growth of other threads on this subject since this was made a main page forum of its own or general ennui and an over-abundance of other material on the subject. I have noticed that, over the past few weeks, this thread has gone from being one of the best and most comprehensive locations of information to being a bit of a trolling battle ground.

Other than to stand on the doorstep and clap on Thursday, I haven't been past our front door since I went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription on Monday morning. What is the betting that the day I feel up to going for a short ride is the day after they ban cycling completely?

I bet one could, that’d be a great use of an afternoon. It’s on my list after kitchen cupboard shelf reconfiguration and balcony gravel grooming.

Probably about the same chance of my Tacx Neo shitting the bed at the same time. High.

Gravel on a balcony...?!

Today Richmond park bans cyclists without NHS badge (under 12 yo OK)

A small, but rampantly disorganised, border of gravel

Cheers - I’ll do the forms and all that. Sadly I don’t think I have any especially useful skills to offer, just time and energy

When you put it like that, yeah, maybe they should say national parks are closed. But the problem then is that those who live in/near them will be disadvantaged.
I think those guidelines have now been updated to tell people to "stay local" and "not travel unnecessarily" (at least according to the article below) but I don't have a link.
