This is horrible from Guardian ticker:
A short while ago, Associated Press filed this troubling report from Tehran, the Iranian capital where people are drinking toxic methanol in the mistaken belief it will combat the coronavirus.
Standing over the still body of an intubated 5-year-old boy wearing nothing but a plastic diaper, an Iranian health care worker in a hazmat suit and mask begged the public for just one thing: Stop drinking industrial alcohol over fears about the new coronavirus.
The boy, now blind after his parents gave him toxic methanol in the mistaken belief it protects against the virus, is just one of hundreds of victims of an epidemic inside the pandemic now gripping Iran.
Iranian media reports nearly 300 people have been killed and more than 1,000 sickened so far by ingesting methanol across the Islamic Republic, where drinking alcohol is banned and where those who do rely on bootleggers. It comes as fake remedies spread across social media in Iran, where people remain deeply suspicious of the government after it downplayed the crisis for days before it overwhelmed the country.
“The virus is spreading and people are just dying off, and I think they are even less aware of the fact that there are other dangers around,” said Dr. Knut Erik Hovda, a clinical toxicologist in Oslo who studies methanol poisoning and fears Iran’s outbreak could be even worse than reported. “When they keep drinking this, there’s going to be more people poisoned.”

Nothing curious, just assumed it was a fault as it was such strange behaviour. See my post above. Just didn't want to flood the thread with plane geek stuff.

I wish the Government wouldn't use the phrase 'fightback' - so inappropriate imo

Well, I can now confirm your observations over here in Putney: there's almost everything in stock again, but no flour and for some reason no chicken. Can't really complain otherwise though, they've even implemented the whole "one in one out" thing, keeping distance from each other in the queue, etc.
Buying Pak Choi has never felt that indulgent.

Do you know why the plane is rastering over south west London?

My wife went to the Putney Sainsbury's on Werter Rd about an hour ago. Got fresh chicken and bread with no problems. Said there were toilet rolls there too (we're ok for the rest of the week so didn't get any). She didn't check on rice/pasta/beer as there was no way she would have been able to carry any back.
Social distancing in the queue but someone decided they couldn't wait, left the queue and proceeded to walk within a few feet of everyone in the queue. Inside the shop there's no social distancing at all, people reaching in front of others to get items / etc.
tl;dr left to their own devices people are stupid

DEFRA / Environment Agency have been funding LiDAR to help with Flood Alleviation planning.
The most recent data we have for the Pinn Valley and Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve has a 'resolution(?)' of 25cms. Previous I think was 1m.
Could be funding that was allocated and has to be spent this financial year? -

She had a dog, but her ex gave it to a dodgy guy, she knows where it is but can't pick it up.
Gave her money for a room for the week, so well that's that. Meanwhile there is a huge ex office that has been "for redevelopment" for years, I really wonder why Belfast CC doesn't at least let people squat in there.

Police helicopter out over Belfast. I wonder if it checking the social distancing, as normally they are out in the evenings during weekends when youths are causing bother / during security alerts.

^^^ and ^^^^^ Meh. Ventured out for the first time in 11 days to Crown Point Lidl. A bit of fruit thank god, but f all fresh veg, no fresh meat/fish, no bread, no eggs. Did get flour though.
Will try to order fruit/veg delivery next week instead.Anecdatally, lots of cars about, various cyclists heading back/out, reasonable number of people pottering about as usual. Didn't seem very lock-downy.

Sizeable increase on UK numbers today.

Anybody have any idea what's gone on here?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/27/chloe-middleton-death-21-year-old-not-recorded-nhs-covid-19-related21 year old seems to have died from a heart attack, but coroner recorded (and told family) it was COVID-19, despite no test having been done..?
Just a really unfortunate case of miscommunication? -

Sizeable increase on UK numbers today.
If you are referring to the BBC ticker, note how they use the word 'with' not 'from'.
Also, from that G article, above:
“He died with Covid-19. I cannot tell you whether that was the reason he died"
Yet the G refer him to him as
"The youngest official victim in the UK is thought to be 28-year-old Adam Harkins Sullivan"
-

Sounds like it, definitely a bit weird how that was communicated. Some other interesting paragraphs from that article btw:
The youngest official victim in the UK is thought to be 28-year-old Adam Harkins Sullivan, a painter and decorator from Camden, north London, who died at University College Hospital in London on Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for the hospital confirmed that a 28-year-old man had died on 24 March after testing positive for the virus. “He died with Covid-19. I cannot tell you whether that was the reason he died,” she said.
As bad as the situation is getting or already is, in some cases the death numbers are being increased due to pretty much anyone who is positive and dies of something going into the 'now dead' statistics, irrespective of whether they really died of Covid-19 or not. I'm not sure it makes a huge difference overall, but it looks like it might inflate mortality numbers a bit.

Maybe balanced out by the people dying at home and in care not getting counted?
Matt Hancock now - herd immunity?
