All you need to do is wait a few days to see the larger death numbers pop up - they're growing daily. Deaths will always lag behind, I think.
Also, they're not actually that low, they're only low in comparison with the more 'mature' countries like China, Italy, Spain, Iran, France. Germany on the other hand is still quite low: over 50% of the cases detected in the US, but something like 20% of the deaths.
That being said, the numbers of infected people can't really be used to argue much one way or the other, as it's completely dependent on who and how and how much you test anyway.
Sorry if this has already been discussed elsewhere (and if so please point me in the right direction) but can anyone explain why the number of deaths in the U.S. is so low in relation to case numbers?
It doesn't seem like they exactly have it under control...
