Been thinking about this now and I can see why you want to avoid releasing full stats about a death as you can figure out how the deceased has lived. But in a situation like this I can't see why you can't just say "CV19 related issues" and leave it at that?
Or is there a stigma around this?
I'm not trying to be snidey. I think I'm agreeing with you.
I don't see any reason to delay any death stats reported at a national level. You might want to delay local stats so there is the opportunity to inform, but not ask the consent of, the family first.
