These are both lovely looking, what's the seat post on the lilac foreground build?

That's lovely

Had bought this broken frame for it’s mint Campy off road groupset I’ve salted away for another build.
Bodged up a quill seatpost, the expander bolt being conveniently accessible from above.
Build is a parts bin special, 7sp deore lx/xt.
Can’t help loving that paintjob, gold glitter on a black basecoat, looks olive in all but direct sunlight. -

All depends if you pay taxes out of said activity.
Troc = loisir = pas d'impots (no taxes)
Commerce = activité pro = impots (taxes) -

Finally getting to enjoy my homemade bike although it’s going be next summer before it gets any long leisure rides now obviously but it’ll keep my legs ticking over and my mind sane in the coming months

you gotta be pretty happy with how that turned out.
Looks great -

It has its quirks but it rides nice, probably deserves better paint one day. I'll try to keep it as long as I've got space for it.
I do have plans for a more modern "dream" bike though so we'll see -

Looks really good, mismatched tyres and valve alignment aside :) Are those the classic curve bars or neoclassic?
-
• #125637
Haha, hoped nobody would notice. I had the Challenges on but as my friends can attest, I've been getting a puncture without fail on every ride so I've got the Veloflex to put on but I could only be bothered to change the one punctured one this morning. The other will go on soon.
Neo Classics I believe. I love the flat section on the drops

My ongoing quarantine project is this 60's/70's bike. Was in a very bad shape, with rusty parts and paint in bad condition. I'm cleaning / derusting /polishing / greasing ... everything into detail, in order to end up with a bike full of battlescars but technically in very good condition. Feels a bit like preparing this bike for his well-deserved retirement. Takes some time though.
The paint is original and in a bad state. I've removed al the rust and deepcleaned everything. Afterwards, a layer of 2K clear coat to preserve the battle scars.
Group will be an early Record group (from 1963 - +/-1970) with bar end shifters and high flange hubs. Also Universal brakes and Brooks sadle.

Congrats. Looks great! Approve of the level top tube.

• #125642
That's the beauty of making it yourself, no need for spacer stack or slooping tubes

Like that yes. Doesn't have a steerer expander or top cap at all at the moment. They were pinched for another fork a while back and I forgot.
I'll come to you when I know what design I want engraved for this and any future frames I build under my name

Not strictly a complete bike project, garden planter fashioned from a 60's Raleigh, basket and some old angle steel laying around.
If only I was allowed to go and buy some compost and plants........
