The arrival date is part of the paper that came out of the Oxford research group yesterday. Using the death rates they work backwards to claim that there were uncounted cases before to account for the actual relationship between fist identified cases and deaths. This report was just brought up during the daily briefing and it was not dismissed, but instead got the "We just don't know - and this is why testing is so important!" answer. Which is entirely fair. But I bring it up because it means even the experts are not willing to make a claim with regard to how long it has been here.

I was surprised too...

It’s shocking and I feel for you.
Look at the timeline though. Nobody will be called out for taking this too seriously in a month from now and every day counts. There are people in almost every organisation in the situation your mother finds herself in.
Cautious as we should all be about giving or taking advice on teh internet ... it sounds to me as if she should certainly speak out and if needed, stay away.

Tx :)
Yeah without proper testing, everyone using the same test, proper sampling (not just one area/age group...) it is all a wild goose chase.

Odd that they haven’t released the figures for today. Unless I’ve missed them?

From Twatter:
Prince Charles is isolating at Balmoral with Covid-19
Prince Andrew is isolating at Windsor with Jennifer-14

Trump wants businesses to reopen and everything back to normal by Easter.
So his magat followers are adopting the new party line that everything is now fine. Ann Coulter just tweeted that covid is no worse than the flu.
America would be a joke except that they are right next door to me. I pray that if there really is a just God, he will smite everyone on the White House with the virus.

Sadly I think the US are going to go way past Italy in the not so distant future

I'm not worthy, Highness.
Me culpa, mea maxima culpa... Please, take this midget that I offer to you in penance!

In other news, I think my turbo gave me Covid: Instantly got chest pain, shortness of breath, temperature and a bastard fit of coughing.
Tell my mother I love her.

our new timetables are a bit more intense than yours I'm guessing, our new control room caters for 4 lines so they would have to thin out quite a bit. The rumour is our scheduling department are self isolating causing a delay , not sure if they can wfh ! Our spares need to be in the building as you often get a job with few minutes notice. At the moment the service is run on an hour by hour basis depending on how many drivers are in .

I'm no monarchist, but it doesn't seem unreasonable that first in line to the throne gets tested as a priority.
It does when he makes a big noise about being tested just like anyone else which is simply untrue.

Went for my first run in months today. Fuck me I'm unfit. Busiest I've seen the park though, even in the middle of summer, was tricky keeping my distance from other people, might have to find somewhere shitter and therefore less busy in the coming weeks.

we just had to call the emergency gas line as we could strongly smell gas coming from the boiler.
man has been, capped our boiler, ‘incomplete combustion’ - we had our boiler serviced two weeks ago and seems to have been a crappy job

I see a weird future for the US, this could well destroy their economy... Much like the fall of the USSR...
-
• #7674
Or they might resign themselves to letting a lot of people die, especially the poor and the old, and definitely the old and poor, but keeping their economy going. Which one do you think Trump is going to go for? Dollars or lives?

Eugenicist in a grand scale.
Plus, they can always get illegal immigrant labour when needed.
Oi! I resemble that remark. I never said you shouldn't moan about your own circumstances. Even I'm not that hypocritical.
