Good points,
We normally take Ollie out for 2 walks one at the crack of dawn, very rare to see anyone at that time, then early evening or late evening. We have a garden so we have reduced the time when we do take him out to about 30 minutes from his normal hour.

More people than normal out exercising
Need to remember that all gyms are shut, so all the people who would be exercising in a gym are now out exercising in public.
I do think collectively, now everyone's lives are slowing down, you naturally have more time for exercise. No commute means loads of people have just gained 2plus hours of their day, and are now also less tired as they get to have a chilled morning at home before work. Our dear leader has also just publicly reminded us the only reason to go out is for exercise - nudge theory in action.
Then add on the fact the hot glowing orb we've been missing for all of winter has returned and its no surprise the world is out having a jog.

I really don't think there is an issue with the same person taking a dog out twice a day in the way you describe - two 30 minute walks at either end of the day seems reasonable, I just think the strict interpretation of the guidance is once a day per person. Keeping dogs on the lead and under control seems like the most important issue.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
Totally agree but keep in mind that various countries have been investigating this specifically due to anomolous results when testing dogs.
We know little about this virus but their statement that there is no evidence can at least be qualified with the fact that Japan and a few other places have been looking into it.
Not proof of course, but also not totally unqualified.

Anyone else seem to spend those additional two hours working?

Thanks, that's what I figured (and we all know the Guardian's reputation...).

BBC reporting that the post infection antibody test could start being rolled out within days. Key workers will be offered it first, with it eventually being offered in Boots via a simple skin prick test.
Will be really interesting. I'm one of those people that had a horrible two weeks in Feb, with dry cough, really run down and bad headache. My symptoms began before anything much was reported here - so had zero reason to suspect Covid - but more and more I wonder - particularly in light of the Oxford model discussed a few pages back.

This is my 4th bout of illness since Christmas, my last one I thought was CV given it was around the time it was all kicking off in Northern Italy, but based on current symptoms, I've had 3 different viruses since Christmas and now finally succumbed to CV. Either that or it's lingered for a couple of weeks and now finally reached max intensity, which is kind of worrying how long it could affect someone.

I just hope with all this lockdown nobody is getting bored and bumming or eating their exotic pets.
There's only so many diseases we can cope with at one time, and to think we were just getting on top of the AIDS virus...

It's very interesting how many people think they've had it when it was still somewhat under the radar. I think I probably haven't had it--the last infection, a pretty nasty one, that I had was in October/November, which seems too early for Covid-19. I haven't been ill since. Then again, maybe it really has been around for much longer than has been reported.

How long does traces of the virus stay in the system though? Mrs G had a few days in bed (calm down lads) and would be interested in a test but that was a few weeks ago now. Lots of people reporting being laid low over the last few months but would they still have the evidence of the virus in their body?

Antibody test should pick that up if it works properly.

To those who were ill but are now fine: I don't think you're going to be the priority for the antibody tests.
True enough but won't immune people going out and about empower idiots who are bored of the lockdown to come out, propagating the virus all over again?
Immune people will have to wear badges or something so the police know they're allowed out
